Lai Chau - U Dom Xay: Inheriting, cultivating and developing traditional friendship

On October 12, in Lai Chau province, a meeting was held between the delegation of Lai Chau province and the delegation of Udomxay province (Laos). The meeting aimed to continue to inherit, foster and develop the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Lai Chau and Udomxay provinces.

The delegation of Udomxay province was led by Mr. Vongsavanh Saynhavong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Government. Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee Le Van Luong said that in recent times, the Vietnam - Laos relationship has continued to develop positively, closely and trustfully in many fields; high-level agreements between the two Parties and the two States have been effectively implemented, contributing to maintaining the exemplary, loyal and pure relationship between the two brotherly countries.

In the coming time, Lai Chau province hopes to work with U Dom Xay province to focus on a number of contents: Strengthening friendly exchange activities, exchanging information, sharing experiences in arranging and streamlining the apparatus; strengthening economic cooperation; promoting cultural cooperation, coordinating the organization of people-to-people exchange activities, cultural exchanges to contribute to promoting the unique cultural features of each side...

The Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee expressed his belief that together with Udomxay province, they will continue to inherit, foster and develop the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Party Committees, Governments and People of Lai Chau and Udomxay provinces, actively contributing to the cause of national construction and protection of each country.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vongsavanh Saynhavong - Chairman of the Udomxay Provincial Government expressed that the two provinces have similarities in culture, foreign affairs, ethnicity... which are conditions and opportunities for the two sides to have exchanges and cooperation in the coming time. At the same time, the leaders of Udomxay province also informed at the meeting about the basic contents of Udomxay province about the strategies that the provincial government has proposed, especially the 4 pillars in the socio-economic development of the province.

The delegation of Udomxay province wishes to learn and share experiences on the duties, powers and leadership, direction and management of the work of the Provincial Party Secretary and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; experiences in coordination, consulting and assisting the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the leadership of the Provincial People's Committee of the Provincial Party Office and the Provincial People's Committee as well as experiences in decentralizing management between the province and communes to ensure smooth, quick and effective work from the grassroots level.

Mr. Vongsavanh Saynhavong believes that the meeting will not only contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two localities, but also continue to affirm the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, and between the people of Lai Chau and Udomxay provinces.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged specific tasks and powers of the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau province; coordination in leadership and direction of work of the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee; advantages and difficulties in coordination, consulting and assisting of office agencies; experience in decentralizing management between the province and communes to ensure work is carried out smoothly, quickly, with quality and efficiency, and promptly resolving issues right at the grassroots level...

Concluding the meeting, the Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee summarized all the contents exchanged and discussed at the meeting and emphasized that Lai Chau province is always ready to share experiences and support U Dom Xay province in areas where the province has conditions and practical experience, especially in administrative reform, apparatus organization, and capacity building of local governments.

Mr. Le Van Luong expressed his belief that the contents agreed upon by the two sides at today's talks will soon be materialized in practical actions, contributing to further promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos, to become increasingly stronger and develop to new heights.
