Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunion and also a season of sharing. Under the full moon of August, when the streets are sparkling with the light of lanterns, star-shaped lanterns and the sound of dragon-lion-lion dance drums, there are also silent journeys carrying love across long miles to the children in the highlands.
For many years, Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School ( Hanoi ) has organized the "Moonlight of Luong School" festival to spread the belief and practical, warm care to disadvantaged schools in Na Ngao (Tuyen Quang); Hu Tru Linh ( Lao Cai ); two Primary and Secondary Schools: Hang Kia A and Bac Phong ( Phu Tho ).

Sharing the joy of Mid-Autumn Festival has become a special cultural feature in the school's educational journey. This year, the program raised nearly 50 million VND in cash through the auction of paintings created by students with the theme "Loving Mid-Autumn Festival".
The innocent drawings of school age carry messages of joy, dreams and sharing of students in the capital towards children in the highlands who have not yet fully celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival.
Along with the donated money, teachers and students of Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School also personally made nearly 500 moon cakes with traditional Mid-Autumn flavors to give to schools in mountainous areas. These are places where children still lack learning conditions and the Mid-Autumn Festival is sometimes just a story told through the words of adults.

In addition, 50 scholarships were also awarded to students with especially difficult circumstances at Hang Kia A Primary and Secondary School (Pa Co, Phu Tho) to help them have more motivation to go to school and continue their learning journey in difficult conditions.
The school also accompanied the program "Wish for children" held at Bac Phong Primary and Secondary School (Phu Tho) with the meaningful activity of bringing books, school supplies, gifts and sincere words of encouragement to students with strong will and determination, overcoming difficulties to study and practice.

Teacher Van Thuy Duong, Vice Principal of Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School, emotionally shared: "Mid-Autumn Festival comes every year and what moves me most is seeing the children know how to think for others. Although they are young, they do not stop to enjoy their own part but know how to send that joy far away, to the children who may not be able to enjoy a full moon night. Each cake, painting, letter, and small card in the festival carries the warmth of kindness. I believe that when children know how to share and love, that is when educational messages are spread most effectively."

"We always share with our students: Study to grow, live to share. It is no coincidence that the school has preserved that spirit for so many years. An adult, in addition to knowledge and skills, also needs a heart that can be moved by the difficulties of others. The Mid-Autumn gifts that students and parents sent today are the light of knowledge, love and faith, making all of us believe that everyone can make this life warmer and more humane," said teacher Van Thuy Duong.

In a colorful space, filled with the scent of sticky rice flour and sweet jasmine-flavored sugar, the students' small, skillful hands diligently mold each moon cake.
Each time the mold is pressed down, each batch of cakes is baked... contains the excitement and pride of the capital's students who are contributing their small part to a distant moon season.
When the gift boxes were closed, many children included handwritten letters and greeting cards on the lids with the message: "Even though we are far away, the moon always shines."

Each trip, the gift packages from Hanoi depart at night, traveling hundreds of kilometers through winding mountain passes. The cakes are carefully wrapped in paper boxes with the words "Sending love to the moon" and handwritten cards from the students.
At each stop, everyone was moved to see the wide eyes and innocent smiles of the highland students when receiving gifts. Some carefully put the cakes in their pockets as gifts for their parents and siblings. The gifts became a source of encouragement for the students to love school more, have aspirations in studying and believe that far away, there are still many people thinking of them.

The valuable thing is that the above programs are not spontaneous activities but have been maintained for many years, becoming a tradition of the school named after the scientist Luong The Vinh. Every year, students at both Yen Hoa and Thanh Liet campuses participate in donating, baking, writing letters, drawing pictures, and preparing gifts. Along with that is the companionship of parents, former students and volunteer units.
Since then, many children have learned how to love their peers from the smallest things: not asking to buy new toys but saying they want to save money to support friends in the highlands; spending time and effort making toys and cakes to give to friends...
Along with gift and scholarship giving activities, Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School also organized online exchange activities with some highland schools to help connect students in the capital with other regions, opening up a space for them to chat, share their dreams, read poems, sing and dance together.

Although different in space and living and studying conditions, through those exchange activities, the students' feelings become unusually close.
From this bridge of love, the school continues to have many meaningful activities, including welcoming students from the highlands to Hanoi to play, experience summer vacations, Tet holidays and live and interact in the school space and the students' families. Teachers believe that at that moment, the seeds of kindness have truly sprouted in the students' souls.

Combining Mid-Autumn Festival activities with charity trips has brought a lesson about the spirit of mutual love, one of the most beautiful values of Vietnamese people.
Through such meaningful programs, the belief in a kind-hearted young generation who knows how to live for others is further strengthened. It is a journey of comprehensive human education, helping knowledge go hand in hand with morality so that students are increasingly aware of maturity through the spirit of love and sharing with the community.
