Lao Cai: Striving to become a center connecting Vietnam-ASEAN-China trade

The Lao Cai Provincial Party Congress ended successfully, setting out the goal of sustainable development, building the province into an ASEAN-China trade center.

After more than 2 working days, the 1st Congress of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, completed its program and closed.

The Congress discussed and contributed many ideas, unanimously passed the Resolution, Action Program and 17 key Projects. The goal by 2030: to build a clean and strong Party and political system; promote potential, exploit new growth drivers, turn Lao Cai into a growth pole, a center connecting Vietnam-ASEAN-China trade in the direction of "green, harmony, identity, happiness."

The Congress set out 24 targets, including GRDP reaching 240,000 billion VND by 2030, growing over 10%/year; GRDP per capita reaching 136 million VND; attracting 15 million tourists , revenue of 70,000 billion VND; forest coverage rate maintained at 60%, happiness index reaching 72%. The Congress also identified 5 key tasks, 3 breakthroughs and 10 specific solutions.

The Politburo appointed comrade Trinh Viet Hung to hold the position of Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress called on the entire Party and people to promote solidarity, aspiration for development, and determination to build a prosperous and happy Lao Cai./.
