The book was carefully selected and compiled, edited by Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province Nguyen Nhu Khoi and directly completed by journalist, poet Nguyen Si Dai and writer Bui Ngoc. With 580 pages of writing about 52 contemporary figures in many different fields, from politics , economics, society, science, education to culture, art, national defense, security, the work not only stops at recognizing specific contributions, but also depicts the spirit, soul and spirit of Nghe people today.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan had some thoughts right after finishing the book. He said that this is a book to read slowly, think deeply, to soften your heart and also become more upright and steadfast. So that in the future when talking about our homeland, we can say: There is a season called "season of personality", blooming from pages like this.

Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen The Ky, Vice Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, shared: I read “Nghe An People” with many emotions. The book not only introduces 52 typical faces but also evokes the cultural depth and spiritual qualities of Nghe An people: solidarity, loyalty, courage, love of learning, spirit, kindness, and close attachment to the homeland and country.

It brings readers a journey to discover 52 typical people, helping us touch the deep soul of the people of Nghe An: brave but romantic, straightforward but rich in humanity. Therefore, although it has just been published, "Nguoi Xu Nghe" has attracted readers from all over the country and Nghe An Publishing House has immediately reprinted it to meet the needs of readers near and far.

When asked about the idea of publishing the book, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khoi (editor-in-chief) shared: During the years of working as a journalist and even after, I was fortunate to get to know and work with many famous people from my hometown Nghe An. From them, I felt more fully about their character, intelligence, steadfast will, desire to contribute and the heart that always yearns for the development of the country and my hometown.

It seems that these are the typical values, bearing the distinctive mark of the Nghe people on the journey of fighting, building and developing the country. The thought of wanting to share with everyone the beauty of the Nghe people and how to spread those good values to many people keeps nagging me like a constant urge.

It is easy to see that the further one goes, the more one comes into contact with and absorbs the cultural quintessence of many regions and continents, the more the “Artistic quality” in each person is crystallized and shines. It is that “Artistic quality” that becomes a strong driving force to urge effort, creativity, and success; contributing to enriching the traditions of the homeland of Nghe with new, humane and sustainable values.

In each page, we encounter the image of the proud and indomitable sons of Nghe An. They are soldiers with steady hands who contributed to the unification of the country such as People's Armed Forces Heroes Nguyen Quoc Thuoc and Hoang Dan; architects of integration policies, contributing to shaping Vietnam's position in the global economy, making every effort for the development of their homeland and country such as Mr. Truong Dinh Tuyen and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Luong; intellectuals who are committed to the times such as scholar Nguyen Tran Bat; businessmen who always strive to contribute to the country such as Labor Hero Thai Huong...

Each character has its own mark, its own personality, but when placed next to each other, they become a harmonious whole, exuding a common source: talent, steadfastness and unyielding spirit.

Journalist and poet Nguyen Si Dai, author of many famous poems such as "Farmer", "We come back to our Mother", who directly edited this book with journalist Nguyen Nhu Khoi and writer Bui Ngoc, confided: What makes "Nghe An People" special is not only its strength and straightforwardness, but also its romance, talent and compassion.

That is the beauty, both harsh and poetic, of this land. In hardship, they still nurture their souls with music, poetry, and with their flesh and blood attachment to their homeland of Lam River and Hong Mountain. Names such as Nguyen Tai Tue, Nguyen Trong Tao, An Thuyen, Hoang Tran Cuong… and many others have made this land of green mountains and blue water famous.

“Nghe An People” is therefore not only a story of successful people, but also a story of souls filled with humanity. Reading the book, we clearly see that even when reaching the heights of knowledge and success, they still do not lose their simplicity, kindness, and loyalty to their homeland and people. Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung, who was recently elected by the 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to continue holding the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, in the preface to the book expressed his respect for the great contributions of each person of Nghe An in general and the 52 portraits in the book in particular.
