LG Electronics announces new washing and drying technologies

The 2026 solution set includes front-load washing machines, top-load washing machines, washer-dryers and heat pump dryers, replacing the entire current product range in the Vietnamese market.

Accordingly, LG's new line of washing and drying products is integrated with Affectate Intelligence AI, especially LG AI DD 2.0, which helps to optimize washing and drying efficiency in a superior way. The device uses deep learning technology to automatically detect weight, accurately recognize fabric materials and assess the level of dirt on clothes.

Based on this analysis, the machine automatically recommends the optimal washing cycle thanks to the combination of the Inverter Direct Drive motor and 6 Motion technology (6 movements simulating hand washing). This combination not only enhances cleaning efficiency but also protects fabric fibers 10% better than previous generations.

In addition, TurboWash 360 technology provides fast and convenient cleaning in just 39 minutes. The LG AI DD 2.0 washing machine generation has the ability to personalize. Users can easily customize the display language, choose to display their favorite washing cycles or let the device automatically arrange and prioritize frequently used programs.

Thanks to the direct drive motor (Inverter Direct Drive), the new generation of washing and drying machines operates smoothly and durably with a warranty period of up to 10 years. Users can also easily control and select washing and drying programs through the smart LG ThinQ application. The application also provides useful information such as power consumption, checking the number of washing and drying cycles and reminders to clean the washing drum, as well as intelligent error diagnosis and suggesting appropriate solutions.

LG's new laundry and dryer product line is positioned as the "sustainable" solutions of the future. The washing and drying products are equipped with the Microplastic Reduction wash cycle. The appliance optimizes the movements of the washing drum to minimize friction, helping to protect fabric fibers and reduce the amount of microplastic released into the environment by 60% compared to the normal wash cycle.

This product line is capable of significant energy savings, consuming 40% less energy than the minimum required to achieve Class A certification in the European market. This positive result comes from improvements in motor performance and algorithm refinement. The control screen on the new generation of washer-dryers is replaced by a rotary knob with an LCD screen. This not only reduces the number of electronic components but also eliminates some chrome-plated materials, reducing the impact on the environment and the health of users.

LG’s new generation of washer-dryers boasts a minimalist and sophisticated design that blends seamlessly into any modern interior. Despite its compact overall size for easy installation in modern living spaces, the appliance features an extended drum, which increases the load capacity for each wash. This innovation delivers superior performance without taking up space.

With efforts to improve technology to enhance user experience, LG has led the laundry market in Vietnam for 8 consecutive years (from 2017 to 2024, according to GfK data). By the end of August 2025, LG accounted for 23.4% of the value of the washing machine market sold, holding the highest position in the market. Notably, in the horizontal drum washing machine segment, one of LG's strong product lines also maintained the number one position with 33.9% market share.
