On the morning of October 13, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences , Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, issued 8 consecutive earthquake notices in Mang But and Mang Ri communes, Quang Ngai province.

Accordingly, the first earthquake occurred at 1:12 a.m. on October 13, with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale at the coordinates (14.855 degrees North latitude, 108.149 degrees East longitude - Mang But commune).
The 8th earthquake occurred at 7:08 a.m. the same day with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale at the coordinates (14.880 degrees North latitude, 108.137 degrees East longitude). The earthquake occurred in Mang But commune.
Among the 8 earthquakes that occurred this morning in Mang But and Mang Ri, the one with the largest magnitude occurred at 1:57 a.m. with a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale, occurring at the coordinates (14.876 degrees North latitude, 108.141 degrees East longitude), causing the entire epicenter area to shake strongly.
Ms. Y Biet (residing in Ko Chat village, Mang But commune) shared: “The 4.2 magnitude earthquake happened early this morning, and people still felt it. Earthquakes happen frequently here, so people are used to it, but a strong earthquake is also scary.”

All of the above earthquakes have a focal depth of about 8.1 km and a natural disaster risk level of 0. The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences is continuing to monitor these earthquakes.
From 2021 to now, hundreds of earthquakes have been recorded in Quang Ngai (formerly Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province), including large earthquakes measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale causing widespread tremors.
According to scientists, “triggered earthquakes” are the cause of earthquakes in recent years in Kon Tum province (old).
Currently, the Institute of Geophysics is deploying 11 monitoring stations in Kon Tum (old), and conducting in-depth updated research to determine the level of earthquake activity in this locality.
