Luka Modric scored a great goal to help Real Madrid defeat Sevilla

Real Madrid are in good form and are alone at the top of La Liga. Sevilla have been in poor form for the past two years and their trip to the Bernabeu in round 26 of La Liga promises to be risky.

With high excitement, Real Madrid pushed up their formation to attack. In the 9th minute, Lucas Vazquez scored against goalkeeper Nyland, but VAR technology denied the goal due to offside.

Coach Ancelotti's team created many chances in the first half but Tchouameni and Valverde failed to score. Strikers like Vinicius and Diaz almost disappeared from the attack.

In the second half, Real Madrid continued to attack but they encountered a resilient Sevilla defense. Real Madrid dominated with 64% ball possession, 16 shots but all proved ineffective.

The highlight of the match came in the 81st minute, when Luka Modric unleashed a classy long-range shot that left goalkeeper Nyland helpless, scoring the only goal of the match for Real Madrid.

At 38 years and 169 days, Modric became the second oldest player to score from outside the box in La Liga since the 2003-04 season, after Jorge Molina at 40 years and 15 days. Modric also scored two goals for Real Madrid this season.

Defeating Sevilla 1-0, Real Madrid continues to lead La Liga with 65 points/26 matches, 8 points more than second-placed Barcelona.
