Ban Than - Hon Mang - Hon Dua scenic spot is a cluster of scenic spots that has been ranked as a national monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Ban Than is a rocky beach located on Tam Hai island commune, Hon Mang and Hon Dua are two small neighboring islands, Ban Than rocky beach is about 2km long.

According to locals, the name Ban Than is due to the flat, smooth rocks here, like giant tables of nature, jet black as coal, creating a beautiful, harmonious landscape between the sea, white sand, green coconut forests and sedimentary rock beaches.

In the Ban Than area, there is a black cliff that is more than 2km long and about 40m high, stacked on top of each other. These rock layers have many different positions, including tilted, overlapping or broken, and are considered a unique geological heritage.

Geologists believe that this is not volcanic rock but bedrock, up to 400 million years old, that once rose above sea level during a geological tectonic event.

The area is an important geological heritage, including components such as paleontology, stratigraphy, geomorphology, structure-tectonics, karst, rocks, and rich paleoenvironment.

Many activities to celebrate receiving the national monument ranking certificate

The People's Committee of Nui Thanh district is implementing many activities to celebrate the ceremony to receive the national relic ranking certificate for the Ban Than - Hon Mang - Hon Dua scenic site, scheduled to be held on the afternoon of February 28.

Activities such as displaying and exhibiting photos about the land and people of Nui Thanh, the economic and social life, focusing on famous landscapes, historical relics, and festivals with unique local characteristics.

In addition, Nui Thanh district also organizes water sports activities such as men's basket shaking, men's and women's basket swimming, men's volleyball final at Bai Nom, Thuan An village (Tam Hai commune) organizes a fishing festival at Bai Bac and whale cemetery.

Organizing activities and festivals aims to continue to improve the management, protection and promotion of the value of the national scenic relic Ban Than - Hon Mang - Hon Dua, promoting this tourist attraction.
