In mid-September, the volunteer group “Hope Film” organized a Mid-Autumn Festival program for children in Aur village, Avuong commune. The journey to Aur village involved more than 100km of winding mountain roads, 18km of trails through forests, steep slopes and deep streams.
In Aur village, children receive health check-ups from dedicated doctors and nurses and receive cakes and gifts that family members carry on their backs from a long distance.
In addition, the program also organized a cultural exchange night, lantern procession, and lion dance - something the children had never experienced before. That simple joy has become an unforgettable childhood memory in the hearts of the children of Aur.
One villager emotionally shared: “In my entire life, I have never seen such a bustling Mid-Autumn Festival in the village. Seeing the children smiling happily, we also feel warmed, as if we have more faith to overcome the difficulties in the border area.”
Meanwhile, Hand in Hand Group (University of Education, Danang University) launched a fundraising activity in the form of lion dance. On this occasion, the group organized dance performances at 11 locations, with 3 performances, with fees ranging from 600,000 to 1 million VND/location.
To have a perfect performance, nearly a month before, the members had practiced seriously and elaborately. Currently, the group has about 40 key members, taking turns performing, units in need will contact the group directly to arrange the schedule.
The group spent all the money raised to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Center for Supporting Victims of Agent Orange and Unfortunate Children in Da Nang, and to prepare for winter volunteer activities in disadvantaged areas.
