Before Christmas this year, Messi will officially launch his youth football tournament – ​​Messi Cup – for the U16 age group. This is the first time the tournament has been held, taking place from December 9 to 14 in Miami (USA).

According to the announcement, 8 of the world's top youth teams will participate, including 2 representatives from England, Chelsea and Manchester City. In addition, the tournament also brings together famous academies such as Barcelona, ​​Newell's Old Boys, Inter Milan, River Plate, Atletico Madrid and especially Inter Miami, Messi's current team.

The eight teams will be divided into two groups, playing a round-robin format, followed by a playoff to determine the final standings. Most of the matches will be held at Chase Stadium - Inter Miami's home ground - and training grounds in the surrounding area.
