According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of weak cold air combined with easterly winds from the subtropical high pressure circulation, the North will experience scattered thunderstorms from October 13-15.

The focus of this rain is in the area   Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa- Ha Tinh provinces. Rainfall from the afternoon of October 13 to the end of October 15 is generally from 40-100mm, with some places experiencing heavy to very heavy rain over 150mm.

The midland and mountainous areas of the Northeast (including the provinces of Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh , Tuyen Quang) from the afternoon of October 13 to the end of October 15 will also have scattered showers and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 30-60mm, in some places heavy rain over 100mm.

From noon on October 13 to the end of October 15, Hanoi capital will have rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 40-80mm, in some places heavy rain over 100mm.

Last night and this morning (October 13), the area from Quang Tri to Hue, the South Central Coast, the southern Central Highlands and the South had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some heavy rain.

Rainfall from 7:00 p.m. on October 12 to 7:00 a.m. on October 13 was over 60mm in some places, such as Vinh Ninh station (Hue) 67.0mm, Hoa Khanh station (Dak Lak) 94.2mm, Cau 14 station (Lam Dong) 90.2mm.

It is forecasted that in the afternoon and night of October 13, the area from Quang Tri to Lam Dong and the South will continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, with some places having heavy rain over 80mm. Thunderstorms in these areas will continue for many days to come. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
