As of 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (September 30), rainfall continued to increase in many areas of the city. In particular, in O Cho Dua ward, rainfall reached 503mm; Vinh Thanh commune 448mm; Hoai Duc commune, Tay Mo ward both over 300mm... Due to the impact of heavy rain, 65 flooded areas appeared in the city.

At the To Lich, Lu, Set rivers..., water levels rose to the banks even though the pumping stations of the Hanoi Drainage Company were operating at maximum capacity to "race" against the rain.
According to the forecast of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, this afternoon and evening, in Hanoi there will continue to be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, so flooding is forecast to occur on a large scale.
Pumping stations Yen So, Cau Buu, Dong Bong 1, 2, Co Nhue, Da Sy... have been operating at 100% capacity to quickly lower the water level in the system.
According to the assessment of Hanoi Drainage Company, the rainfall was greater than 300mm in a few hours in many areas of the city this morning, equal to the resistance capacity of the entire drainage system in the central area to rain in 2 days (48 hours).
