From small transactions, spread great love

On October 13, in Hanoi , Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS), Mastercard and Vietnamese Community Online Services Corporation (Payoo) launched the third season of the social security program "Touch to share, Give hope".

Following the success of the previous two years with more than 2,000 free screenings and 200 financial support packages for high-risk women, this year's program aims to provide free cancer screenings for 2,010 vulnerable women nationwide, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20).

In the context of the increasing rate of women with cancer, especially cervical cancer, this is a meaningful activity. According to statistics, 50-80% of cancer patients in Vietnam are diagnosed late, making treatment less effective. With about 85% of women at risk of HPV infection at least once in their lives, early testing and screening are considered a "shield" to help protect health and increase the chance of successful treatment.

Launched in 2023 with the name "Touch to pay, send thousands of loves" and renamed "Touch to share, Give hope" from 2024, the program has become an annual activity of NAPAS, Mastercard and Payoo, spreading the spirit of kindness and taking care of Vietnamese women's health.

Entering its third year, the program has expanded in scale and changed its content: instead of screening for thyroid cancer as before, this year it focuses on HPV testing – an early screening method for cervical cancer.

The target group is vulnerable women: migrant workers, street vendors, domestic workers, workers aged 30-50 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, especially single mothers. This is a high-risk group but has little access to health services. Through the program, they are examined, tested and consulted for free, helping them to be more proactive in protecting their health.

The race is launched directly at schools, each kilometer will correspond to 20,100 VND donated to the program.

In the spirit of "touch to spread love", each transaction using NAPAS or Mastercard at Payoo payment points will contribute 2,010 VND to the program fund. In addition, each kilometer completed in the online race "Running for a Healthy Life" will also contribute 2,010 VND, while in live races at universities, the contribution is up to 20,100 VND/km.

All proceeds are used for free cancer screening and HPV testing. In addition, the program implements a series of community activities such as seminars, talk shows and sports events to raise awareness about early screening and healthy lifestyles.

The seminar "Early cancer screening - Proactive journey for health" gathered medical experts, psychologists and beneficiaries, helping the community understand the importance of regular health check-ups. In particular, the sports program "Running for a healthy life" not only encourages young people to exercise but also spreads the spirit of social responsibility, as each step contributes to bringing health care opportunities to disadvantaged women.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Hung, Deputy General Director of NAPAS, said: "Each touch transaction is not just a payment, but an act of connecting hearts, sharing love with women who need care. NAPAS and its partners want to create sustainable values, towards a healthy and compassionate society."

Mr. Sharad Jain, Country Manager of Mastercard in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, shared: "Mastercard is proud to accompany NAPAS and Payoo to bring this meaningful program, not only raising public awareness about early cancer screening but also providing healthcare opportunities to thousands of vulnerable women."

Payoo General Director Ngo Trung Linh emphasized: "Spreading human values is a mission associated with sustainable development. We are proud that every transaction at the Payoo system contributes to continuing the journey of healthy and happy living for Vietnamese women."

From a small initial campaign, "Touch and share, Give hope" has now become a program with a profound social impact. In its third year of implementation, the program hopes to continue to receive the support of the business community, social organizations, hospitals, universities and banks - together spreading the spirit of humanity, improving the quality of life for Vietnamese women.

The message "Touch to share - Touch to love" is realized through every action - every transaction, every step, every participation contributes to writing a beautiful story about care and social responsibility.

Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS) is a payment intermediary licensed by the State Bank to provide financial switching and electronic clearing services. With 68 banks and financial companies in the system, NAPAS domestic cards apply advanced chip technology, meet international standards and are accepted for payment at tens of thousands of locations nationwide.
