A series of banks have announced plans to pay dividends at the upcoming shareholders' meeting. For example, Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (stock code NAB) has just announced documents for the 2024 Shareholders' Meeting, which will take place on March 29. In the contents that will solicit shareholders' opinions, the bank plans to pay a 25% dividend in shares to shareholders in 2024 from the profits of the past year and undistributed profits of previous years. The total amount of dividends is equivalent to more than VND 2,645 billion. Paying dividends in shares will increase the charter capital of this bank from more than VND 10,580 billion to more than VND 13,725 billion.

Meanwhile, Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (stock codeVIB ) will hold its 2024 General Meeting of Shareholders on April 2. According to the proposal of the Board of Directors, VIB will pay dividends at a rate of 29.5% on charter capital. Of which, the maximum cash dividend is 12.5%, stock dividend is 17% and bonus shares are issued to employees at a rate of 0.44%. This bank will pay dividends in two installments, the first is an interim cash dividend at a rate of 6% and the second is a cash dividend at a rate of 6.5%. The total amount used to pay dividends is VND 3,171 billion. The first interim cash dividend was paid at the end of February.
Similarly, the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (stock code MBB) will also hold its 2024 General Meeting of Shareholders in April. One of the contents to be announced and asked for shareholders' opinions is the dividend payment rate of about 20% in cash and shares. MBB recorded a successful year when its consolidated pre-tax profit in 2023 reached VND 26,200 billion, an increase of 15% compared to 2022. In 2023, the bank increased its charter capital from VND 45,000 billion to more than VND 52,100 billion through stock dividends.
In addition, Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (stock codeACB ) also announced its expected dividend payment plan for 2023, totaling approximately VND 19,886 billion. Specifically, ACB plans to pay dividends at a rate of 25%, of which 15% is in shares and 10% in cash, corresponding to the retained earnings usage of VND 9,710 billion.
