It is estimated that in the first 8 months of 2025, the total retail sales of goods reached 51,492.5 billion VND, an increase of 117.18% compared to August 2024 and an increase of 12.57% over the same period last year. In particular, some items increased impressively such as: household appliances (up nearly 30% over the same period); food and foodstuffs (up 16%); cultural and educational items (up 18.15%)... In August alone, groups with high growth rates were: household appliances (60% over the same period); garments (up 17.5%); food and foodstuffs (up 15.4%), precious stones and metals (up 45.5%)...

These positive signals will be the driving force for the retail industry to enter the "golden season". In addition to seasonal factors such as wedding season, festivals, and Lunar New Year, the careful preparation and proactive planning of businesses and goods are expected to create an explosive consumption trend from September 2025.

At the same time, encourage businesses to organize concentrated promotions, stimulate consumption, stabilize sales programs, bring goods to serve rural and mountainous areas, especially areas affected by natural disasters and floods.

In September, the Department of Industry and Trade will host the North Central Trade Fair with about 250 booths, and organize the Orange and Agricultural Products Festival at the end of the year to promote and introduce local specialties, promote supply-demand connections, expand the consumer market and create new momentum for the retail industry.
