Urgently fix the problem of Linh Hong spillway

(Baohatinh.vn) - Floodwater from upstream swept away about 20m of Linh Hong spillway bridge, Son Hong commune (Ha Tinh), paralyzing traffic in the area.

This morning (October 1), Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company 487, Truong Vinh Ward ( Nghe An ) brought in machinery to install stone cages and reinstall each piece of concrete washed away by floodwaters at Linh Hong spillway.

Linh Hong spillway bridge is located on National Highway 8C - an important traffic artery connecting village 12, old Son Linh commune to village 7, old Son Hong commune (now Son Hong commune).

The spillway bridge was built more than 20 years ago, about 100m long and 6m wide. At about 8am on September 29, floodwaters from upstream washed away a 20m section of the northern bridge abutment, causing traffic disruption.

Ms. Hoang Thi Long (village 6, Son Hong commune) said: Every day I cross this bridge to do business, but since the bridge collapsed, my business has had to stop. Since the bridge pier was washed away, the flood water rose high and flowed rapidly, no one dared to cross this bridge.

“ Linh Hong spillway bridge is a traffic route with a high density of vehicles passing through. In the North - where the bridge pier is washed away, there are 135 households in 3 villages (6,7,8) living, greatly affecting the people in the area. Therefore, the people's wish is that the bridge will be repaired soon to make their travel more convenient " - Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Son Hong Commune, Pham Hung Toan said.

Regarding the repair progress, according to Mr. Tran Nguyen Tuong - Director of Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company 487, after storm No. 10 passed, the company conducted a survey to come up with a plan to repair the bridge. We are determined to complete Linh Hong bridge by October 3 at the latest.
