Bright, green beauty of the countryside

We returned to Vinh Hao, walking on the flat asphalt road to Vinh Hai village, both sides were brilliant with canary yellow, adding to the peaceful, bright, green beauty of the coastal village that is changing every day. Mr. Lam Ba De - Head of Vinh Hai village showed us the "Security Light" lights that are more than 2.2 km long. At night, the bright lights not only prevent theft but also ensure safety when traveling.

Previously, the road from Vinh Hao Secondary School to the residential area of Hamlet 8 of the village was bustling with vehicles, but lacked light at night, so collisions often occurred, traffic accidents easily occurred, and was a place where bad guys took advantage to easily cause theft... That worry made the Party Cell and the Village Executive Board sit down to discuss solutions. "Only when there is light, the country road is truly safe," Mr. De said happily.

From the meetings, the propaganda and mobilization team was established, receiving the consensus of the people. Some contributed money, some contributed labor, some volunteered to light up the front yard. After a short time, 50 solar lights were installed, illuminating the entire 2.2 km long road. The total amount of money mobilized was nearly 93 million VND, the contribution in the coastal village with many difficulties was full of faith and solidarity to contribute for the peace of the village.

At night, the country road is no longer dark, but instead there are warm yellow strips of light. The bushes along the road are cleared away. Young people no longer gather to speed and weave. The elderly and children can go out on the road with peace of mind, and the trucks carrying agricultural products can go back and forth more leisurely, safely and conveniently than before. The "Security Light" model has become a bright spot in the journey to maintain and improve the new rural criteria in the commune. And on that road that shines brightly every night, the people of Vinh Hao clearly understand: the new rural area is not a destination, but a journey of consensus and aspiration to rise up.

Efforts to achieve advanced new rural commune standards

The New Rural Development Program has brought about remarkable changes to Vinh Hao commune. The appearance of the countryside is increasingly spacious, the environment is improved, traditional cultural values are promoted, political security and social order are maintained, and people's lives are improved.

Vinh Hao was formed on the basis of merging two communes, Vinh Tan and Vinh Hao, which were previously localities that had met new rural standards (in 2018 and 2020). This is a favorable condition for the commune to continue promoting the program's influence, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, the consensus and joint efforts of the people, affirming the role of the community in building new rural areas.

In recent years, resources from programs and projects have been prioritized for investment in infrastructure: schools, medical stations, cultural houses, roads, etc. At the same time, the commune has proactively reviewed and assessed the current situation according to the new rural and advanced new rural criteria, as a basis for developing appropriate plans and implementation roadmaps.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Thanh - Head of Vinh Hao Commune Economic Department, the set of criteria for the period 2021 - 2025 has been upgraded with many new criteria; with 8 new criteria for new rural communes, 34 additional criteria and 6 adjusted criteria for advanced new rural communes. This is both a pressure and a motivation for localities to have specific plans, clearly identifying criteria that require investment capital such as: schools, traffic, cultural facilities... as well as criteria that can be completed by the people.

At the same time, the commune focuses on restructuring the agricultural sector towards modernity and sustainability; increasing the value of key products, building linkage chains, developing the OCOP program, associated with the goal of sustainable poverty reduction. Effectively exploiting capital from the national target program on New Rural Development, Sustainable Poverty Reduction and other programs and projects in the area in the period of 2026 - 2030 to strive to "reach the finish line" of an advanced new rural commune on schedule.
