Vietnamese Women's Day October 20: Capital's women affirm their position in the new era

This event marks the glorious development of the women's movement and the Women's Union over 95 years of accompanying the revolutionary cause and achievements of the nation.

During the 95 years of construction and development, at each historical period, Vietnamese women have always affirmed their noble qualities - steadfastness, kindness, diligence, creativity - making important contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and development of the country. In that common achievement, Hanoi women have always been a bright spot with many typical movements and models, demonstrating a pioneering and core role in the work of the Union and social life. The City Women's Union has inherited and promoted the glorious 95-year tradition, constantly innovating and creating, contributing to caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of women, building the image of the capital's women "Elegant - Civilized - Compassionate".

Entering the period of innovation and integration, the Hanoi Women's Union will continue to closely follow the city's political tasks, apply and concretize the emulation movements of the Central Union; reorganize the apparatus of the Hanoi Women's Union according to the two-level local government model, and at the same time creatively initiate many emulation movements with the unique characteristics of Hanoi women, contributing worthily to the cause of building and developing the capital and the women's movement nationwide.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen highly appreciated the initiative of the Hanoi Women's Union in proposing and implementing policies and projects to support women; in creative activities, promoting cultural values, sharing, accompanying women in difficult circumstances; as well as replicating model points, emulation movements, spreading the typical values of Hanoi people - civilized, humane, and affectionate. With those contributions, the City Women's Union has received the Excellent Emulation Flag, Certificate of Merit from the Central Union and many noble awards from the Party and State - recognizing the great contributions of generations of cadres and women members of the Capital in the cause of developing the country and Hanoi.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen hopes that the Hanoi Women's Union will continue to be the leading unit in patriotic emulation movements, especially the movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era", the campaign "Building families of 5 no's, 3 clean" and the movement "Three an" - social security, safety, peace of mind - in the spirit of the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh emphasized that during the renovation period, the Women's Unions at all levels in the city have pioneered and strongly innovated the content and methods of operation to adapt to the new model, implementing practical and effective two-level local government; realizing development goals and tasks such as applying science and technology, digital transformation, supporting women to start businesses...

The Association has promoted its role as a member of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front, participated in building a clean and strong Party and political system; and performed well the representative function, cared for and protected the legitimate rights and interests of its members.

On this occasion, the Hanoi Women's Union organized many traditional education and exciting exchange activities such as: Exhibition space, introducing creative products of cooperatives, cooperative groups managed and operated by women, and female artisans of craft villages in the capital.

In particular, the Association honored and awarded the title of Outstanding Capital Women in 2025 to 8 outstanding women with outstanding achievements in the fields of scientific research, production labor, health, education, national security and defense, etc.; awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" Medal to 3 city leaders who have made many contributions to the implementation of gender equality and women's advancement goals.

The Hanoi Women's Union also concluded and awarded prizes for the online contest "Proud of the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Women's Union", attracting 186,611 entries from members, women and people in the area.
