Beauty stops competing in Miss Universe Vietnam due to traffic accident

Recently, beauty Ly Kim Thao surprised everyone when she posted a photo of herself in a traffic accident, and announced that she would not be participating in Miss Universe Vietnam 2023. The accident caused her to suffer injuries to her arm and chin.

"During the Miss Universe Vietnam activities, I encountered some personal health-related problems, specifically a traffic accident where a drunk driver ran a red light, causing injuries to my left arm, chin, and knee.

I cannot continue to participate and accompany the contest because I always want to appear with the most beautiful and well-groomed image," she shared.

Ly Kim Thao said she had discussed and asked permission from the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 organizing committee to withdraw her application.

"I hope everyone understands and sympathizes with this unfortunate incident. I hope everyone looks forward to my return in tourism projects," she added.

Kim Thao said her health is now stable. She said she needs time to heal the scars and return to new projects.

Ly Kim Thao was born in 1996, from Bac Lieu . She is 1.72m tall, has measurements of 86-59-93cm, and won the runner-up title at Miss Vietnam Asia 2018. In May 2022, the beauty was crowned Miss Vietnam Global Tourism.

Returning to the beauty pageant at Miss Universe Vietnam 2023, Ly Kim Thao expressed her determination to achieve a high ranking.

"It can be said that this is Thao's biggest decision when registering to participate in Miss Universe Vietnam 2023. Thao has practiced a lot on skills, prepared and meticulously prepared everything when coming to this race. Hopefully with this journey, my brothers and sisters and friends will follow my footsteps and support me," the beauty once shared.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 is held to find a face to participate in Miss Universe - one of the 6 major beauty contests in the world . The contest is held in Ho Chi Minh City, the final is expected to take place on September 29.

The winner will compete in Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador from November 3-18. The remaining four girls in the top 5 will have the opportunity to compete in two international beauty pageants in 2024.
