In 2015, when she started working at Son La Specialized High School, a school with the mission of discovering and nurturing talented students in the province, Ms. Thuy had more opportunities to affirm her professional capacity. The dynamic learning environment, dedicated colleagues and the studious spirit of the students became the motivation for her to love her job more, constantly innovate teaching methods, and contribute to improving the quality of education at the school.
Ms. Thuy shared: I always believe that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about awakening in students a passion and desire to explore . In each History lesson, I try to create an open space where students can ask questions, debate, and argue. I do not want students to just memorize events, but to understand the meaning, context, and lessons from history. When they see those values, they will appreciate history and live more responsibly in the present.

With perseverance and dedication, teacher Pham Thi Thuy has inspired students' love of History, especially in nurturing excellent students. Every year, she discovers and cultivates talented "seeds", builds teams, organizes training sessions, and helps students confidently enter excellent student exams. Tran Tu Le, a 12th grade student and a member of the national team for the 2024-2025 school year, shared: What impresses me most about Ms. Thuy is that each lesson is associated with specific stories, making history more familiar and emotional. She guides us on how to understand and think, to see history as a living stream. When reviewing for exams, she is both a teacher and a companion, always encouraging us to be confident in ourselves. Thanks to her, I love History more.
Currently, she is the Head of the core group of History in the province. For her, this is both a responsibility and an opportunity to spread knowledge, innovate with colleagues, and improve the quality of teaching. She actively participates in training courses of the Ministry of Education and Training, updates teaching methods according to the 2018 General Education Program; at the same time, shares and guides colleagues on techniques for organizing classes, assessing students' abilities in the direction of developing thinking and creativity.
As a reporter for the Department of Education and Training, she directly builds the group's action plan, participates in document appraisal, and shares effective teaching initiatives. As a judge for provincial-level excellent teacher competitions, she is always objective and dedicated, thereby discovering and nurturing many young, capable teachers, contributing to improving the quality of the History teaching staff in the whole province.

In the period of 2021-2024, the core group of History, led by her, is responsible for supporting students across the province to review online for the high school graduation exam. She is both the coordinator and assigner, and directly compiles, teaches and answers students' questions. Online classes have helped thousands of students in remote areas have the opportunity to access knowledge, contributing to improving the average score of Son La's History subject, narrowing the gap compared to the general level of the whole country.
From the 2021 school year up to now, the number of nearly 60 provincial-level excellent student awards and 10 national excellent student awards has partly reflected the efforts and achievements of Ms. Pham Thi Thuy in her career of "cultivating people", bringing pride to the school and the Son La Education sector. At the same time, it is a testament to the love for the profession and students of teachers on the journey of nurturing the soul, arousing national pride and love of history in the young generation of Son La today.
