Preliminary statistics show that in Moc Son ward, the impact of storms No. 10 and No. 11 damaged more than 20 hectares of rice and vegetables; flooded 185 households; large amounts of water also broke 30 meters of Suoi Mon embankment in the area passing through residential group 2; 260 meters of fence collapsed.
With the spirit of overcoming the consequences as the storm receded, after the storm passed, Moc Son ward directed professional departments to coordinate with villages and residential groups to guide farmers to promptly isolate and focus on draining water so that crops are not submerged in water for a long time; at the same time, disseminate technical care measures immediately after the flood receded.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Chairman of Moc Son Ward People's Committee, said: The ward is coordinating with the Regional Agricultural Technical Station IX to guide people in preventing diseases and pests in areas that can recover and strengthen technical measures to restore production areas. As for areas of crops that cannot recover, after the water recedes, people will collect and destroy them, clean the fields, and limit the shelter for pests to arise and cause harm. Along with that, proactively plant short-term vegetables and leafy vegetables to provide vegetables in time for the market in the coming time, especially at the end of the year.

Na Ang residential group has more than 7 hectares of rice, strawberries and cabbage damaged. Immediately after the water receded, the group's management board encouraged farmers to proactively clean the fields, spray foliar fertilizers, micronutrients, etc. to help plants recover quickly; when the soil is dry, hoe and hill up promptly to create airiness for the soil, avoid root suffocation and combine with additional phosphate and NPK fertilizers, etc.
Mr. Lu Van Hiep, Party cell secretary and head of Na Ang residential group, said: The group management board has counted the damaged area and at the same time propagated and mobilized farmers to proactively replant all completely damaged areas.
The recent flood caused more than 2,000 square meters of vegetables belonging to Ms. Hoang Thi Hang's family in Na Ang residential group to be washed away. After the water receded, her family focused on preparing the land and spreading lime powder to disinfect and grow winter vegetables. Ms. Hang shared: The vegetable area after several months of care and fertilization was growing well, and it would be harvested in just over a week, but after just one night, everything was washed away by the flood. Although we felt sorry for the effort and money, we could not sit still and complain. Immediately after the flood, the family cleaned up the fields, prepared the land and prepared to plant new seeds to make up for some of the damage.

After the period of heavy rain and floods, many types of pests often appear, such as: Anthracnose, leaf-eating worms, stem borers, etc. Therefore, producers in the area are practicing the integrated pest management process, focusing on field sanitation, planting at the right density, increasing the use of biological products to prevent diseases and improve plant resistance. In addition, increasing the use of composted organic fertilizers and microbial fertilizers also helps to improve soil looseness, limit nutrient leaching and help vegetable plants recover quickly after heavy rains.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bac, Tu Nhien residential group said: My family has nearly 1 hectare of tomato plantation, of which 5,000 m2 were damaged in the recent storm. After the water receded, the family focused on cleaning the fields, collecting plant residues, weeding, treating lime powder to destroy pathogens remaining in the soil, and preparing the land for winter crops.

With a proactive spirit, determination and timely and drastic solutions, agricultural production in Moc Son ward is gradually recovering after the storm. However, it is forecasted that in the coming time, the weather will still be complicated. Therefore, people need to proactively implement measures to prevent and combat flooding, protect vegetables; use agricultural film to control soil moisture, limit weeds; for leafy vegetables, it is advisable to invest in net houses or roofs, helping to minimize the impact of rain, causing damage to plants, leaves...
