On October 9, at the Border Guard Command of Quang Tri province, the Ministry of National Defense and the Border Guard Command organized an award ceremony for Project QT925.3. This is a project that successfully fought and arrested two Laotian subjects transporting 500kg of drugs, the largest scale ever on the Quang Tri border.
According to Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh, Commander of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard, the project codenamed QT925.3 is considered a particularly large drug project, involving many foreigners from China, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and prominent domestic criminals. This criminal group operates in a sophisticated and reckless manner, ready to use hot weapons to fight back against the authorities when discovered.

To deploy the project, the Border Guard force has developed two combat plans, mobilizing 12 working groups with 120 officers and soldiers, using 15 cars, fully equipped with weapons, support tools and technical equipment. At the same time, border posts on the Vietnam - Laos route were ordered to strengthen control of border gates, closely following the area, especially at Cha Lo International Border Gate Border Post and Ra Mai Border Post.

On the afternoon of October 5, when discovering a suspicious subject in Dan Hoa commune (Quang Tri province), the task force quickly surrounded and arrested two Laotian subjects, Som-Xai Seng-Su-Van (37 years old) and Som-Xay Xu-Li-Xoc (36 years old), confiscating 500kg of synthetic drugs, mainly methamphetamine, and two cars with Lao license plates.
The entire crime-solving process was absolutely safe, demonstrating initiative and smooth coordination between forces on the border.
Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh affirmed that the success of Project QT925.3 is a breakthrough in the management, protection of the border and prevention of drug crimes of the Quang Tri Border Guard after the merger and consolidation under the new model. "This is a typical achievement, contributing to breaking a link in the transnational drug trafficking chain, keeping peace for people in the border area," Mr. Binh emphasized.

Praising the achievements of the Border Guard, comrade Tran Phong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, said that this achievement is not only the pride of the frontline force, but also the result of close coordination between agencies, forces and people of the border.
“In peacetime, the greatest loss is on the anti-drug front. It is necessary to mobilize people's strength, vigilance and community responsibility to accompany the force, minimizing risks and losses for officers and soldiers,” the Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard, said the time of solving the case coincided with the first Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress, and it was even more meaningful when the case was established to celebrate the Congress. The achievement was commended and promptly rewarded by the Minister of National Defense.
Accordingly, the Ministry of National Defense's Steering Committee awarded 85 million VND to the Professional Department and the Cha Lo International Border Gate Border Guard Station; the Border Guard Command awarded 50 million VND to the units; the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee awarded 35 million VND, and also presented certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements.
