Vietnamese people actively integrate sports in Russia

According to a VNA reporter in Moscow, on August 23, the International Summer Sports Festival opened at the Luzhniki Sports Complex - the largest stadium in the Russian Federation, attracting the participation of 2,500 people representing more than 100 large companies and corporations from Russia and 7 other countries.

The Vietnamese delegation, with the core being the Thai Binh football team (champion of the 2025 Community Football Tournament), continued to demonstrate the spirit of comprehensive and positive integration at this event.

The International Summer Games are organized by the All-Russian Society of Physical Culture and Sports of the Labor Reserve and the Association for the Development of Corporate Sports, with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the state corporation Rostec and the Aerospace Instruments Holding Company.

According to the Organizing Committee, the biggest goal of the congress is to create a playground for uniting the business community, encouraging people and families to maintain physical activities and practice sports regularly and systematically.

During the two competition days of August 23-24, amateur athletes have the opportunity to compete on international standard fields, demonstrating the results of their physical training.

Alongside the matches, there were also many booths displaying sports products, equipment and services, as well as activities promoting healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Under the direction of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation, the Vietnamese delegation participated under the name “Solidarity”, with athletes selected from the best in community tournaments.

In addition to football, this year the Vietnamese delegation also participated in table tennis and badminton, demonstrating the spirit of integration and comprehensive development.

Mr. Andrey Shelev - main referee and representative of the tournament organizing committee - highly appreciated the spirit of the Vietnamese community as well as Vietnam's active participation from the very beginning.

He said that Vietnam's expansion of participation in more sports shows the more comprehensive and deeper integration of the Vietnamese sports delegation.

Meanwhile, according to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, representative of the Vietnamese delegation, participating in international sports festivals is not only an opportunity to practice but also an occasion to enhance people-to-people exchanges and affirm the position of the Vietnamese community in Russia.

In particular, this year's event becomes even more meaningful as Vietnam is about to celebrate its 80th National Day and the overseas Vietnamese community in Russia wishes to contribute their small part to the great national festival./.
