Assign forces to proactively monitor the epidemic to villages and residential areas to promptly detect and completely handle small-scale outbreaks, not allowing new outbreaks to arise. Destroy sick and suspected sick animals... Vaccinate, re-vaccinate, and supplement livestock, ensuring that at least 80% of the total livestock population must be vaccinated as soon as possible.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine guides livestock farmers to strengthen the application of disease prevention and hygiene measures for livestock, biosecurity and disease safety. In Hai Duong, in 2019, African swine fever occurred in all districts and cities in Hai Duong province with 392,292 pigs destroyed. The epidemic was then controlled. Pig farming developed stably, growing 4.6% over the same period in 2023. However, the risk of outbreaks is very high in old epidemic areas and high-risk areas.
