In most sports , the Japanese have always demonstrated their resilience and steadfastness. And the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Cup is no exception.

It seemed like there was a big surprise in the second round of the group stage, when Ukraine won the first two games against Japan with scores of 27-25 and 25-20.

Those were also the two matches in which the Turkish coach of the Japanese team - Mr. Ferhat Akbas - showed quite a bit of composure. This 39-year-old strategist used a veteran, Shimamura (33 years old) and a very young star, Akimoto (19 years old) in the starting lineup in game 1.

The dramatic 27-25 victory helped the Ukrainian volleyball team's spirit rise extremely high, and they continued to win 25-20 in the second set.

In the third game, Coach Akbas did not dare to take any more risks. He sent back his top players like Wada, Iwasawa, Seki... As a result, Japan won 25-20 in the third game.

The 4th game was not easy for Japan as the Ukrainian women's volleyball team also played very resiliently, creating an exciting score chase.

But at the most difficult moment, captain Ishikawa shone with 10 impressive points in just one game, helping Japan win dramatically 26-24.

In the 5th game, the Ukrainian girls started to show signs of fatigue, while Japan played more and more strongly, eventually winning 15-11.

In the end, Japan defeated Ukraine with a score of 3-2, thereby officially winning the ticket to the next round with a perfect record.

It should be noted that Ukraine is not a weak opponent as it is ranked 17th in the world , 13 places lower than Japan.

In the final match, Japan will face the reigning world champion Serbia in what is considered the "final" of Group H.
