Group of women leading inter-provincial gambling ring

On November 14, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police issued decisions to prosecute 5 suspects, including detaining Mai Thi Thu Suong (42 years old, residing in Khue Trung ward, Cam Le district, Da Nang), Tran Thi Hang (43 years old) and Huynh Thi Binh (52 years old, both residing in Hoa Cuong Bac ward, Hai Chau district, Da Nang) to investigate the act of "Organizing gambling, gambling" in the form of lottery betting.

Initial information from the police agency, around March 2024, Team 4, Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police discovered a gambling organization and gambling in the form of lottery numbers.

Continuing to verify, the detectives determined that Mai Thi Thu Suong colluded with several other women to set up a lottery line operating not only in Da Nang but also in neighboring localities. In which, Suong played the role of mastermind, Tran Thi Hang, Huynh Thi Binh and Mai Thi AT (residing in Xuan Ha ward), Ha Thi TN (residing in Chinh Gian ward, Thanh Khe district) and were the "henchmen".

Hang, Suong, and Binh were prosecuted and detained.

After a period of investigation and document collection, on November 12, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and local police to simultaneously catch red-handed, urgently search the residence of Mai Thi Thu Suong and her "henchmen", confiscated more than 80 million VND, 8 mobile phones and many related documents.

According to initial confession, since January 2024, Suong organized and operated this betting line. Every day, Suong collected confiscated bets from gamblers, contacts, and lower-level agents, including Hang, Binh, T. and N.

From this confiscated amount, Suong kept a portion to calculate the winnings and losses, and continued to transfer the rest to the upper-level agents and agents. The total amount of gambling money in the network fluctuated between 70 and 100 million VND/day.

Currently, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police continues to investigate and handle the case according to regulations.
