This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons and Action Month for the Vietnamese Elderly (October 1).

The Center for Caring for People with Revolutionary Merits of Da Nang City was established on July 1, 2025 on the basis of merging the Center for Caring for People with Revolutionary Merits of Da Nang City and the Center for Caring and Nursing People with Merits of Quang Nam (under the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City).

The center has a facility at 64 Phan Tu (Ngu Hanh Son ward) and a facility at 99 An Duong Vuong street (Hoi An Tay ward) with the mission of nurturing and caring for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

The center is caring for and supporting 86 people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives, including 11 elderly men and 75 elderly women.

Every month, the Center issues and implements a plan to care for and support meritorious people thoughtfully and effectively; promptly and fully pays related policies.

Regarding nursing work, since the beginning of the year, the Center has coordinated with localities to organize 16 nursing sessions for meritorious people with more than 1,900 people.

The Shelter of Love (No. 18 Phan Tu) was established in 1996 and managed by the nuns of the Order of St. Paul in Da Nang. It has become a place to care for the elderly who are lonely and have no one to rely on.

Currently, the home is taking care of 21 elderly people aged 70 - 95 years old, of which 10 are paralyzed, mentally ill, and unable to take care of themselves. Every day, the elderly are taken care of wholeheartedly by nuns and volunteer students.

Da Nang Social Protection Center (under the Department of Health ) is a comprehensive facility, currently managing, caring for and nurturing 206 subjects (including 106 elderly people).

In addition to the number of elderly people received and managed, the Center also serves elderly people who voluntarily (for a fee) come to the Center. 100% of the elderly people being cared for here enjoy full benefits in care, nurturing, access to medical services, health check-ups, physical therapy and rehabilitation according to regulations...

At the places visited, Chairman of the City Elderly Association Pham Quy sent his warm regards and wished the elderly a long and healthy life; at the same time, he hoped that the officers, civil servants and workers at the Centers would continue to do a good job of caring for and supporting the elderly.

The city will pay attention and create more practical conditions to improve the operational efficiency of the units, thereby making an important contribution to ensuring the city's social security work.
