The national technical regulation on technical safety and environmental protection for automobiles (QCVN 09:2024) clearly states that manufactured, assembled, and imported automobiles must be equipped with lighting and signal lights, including: Front lighting including high beams (headlights) and low beams (low beams), turn signals, hazard warning lights, position lights, brake lights, reverse lights, and rear license plate lights. These lights must be securely installed to ensure stability when the vehicle is in operation.

In which, the types of lights: Front lights (high beam, low beam), turn signals, position lights, brake lights, daytime lights and front fog lights (if additionally equipped) must be installed in pairs and must be installed on the vehicle symmetrically across the vehicle's longitudinal median plane; the pair of lights must be the same color.

In which, front headlights, front fog lights, front position lights must be white or yellow; daytime lights must be white; front turn signals must be yellow.

For rear turn signals must comply with the yellow/red color regulation; brake lights, rear position lights (tail lights) must be red.

A representative of an inspection center said that for these types of lights, if one of the two lights of the same type installed in a pair is damaged or has a different light color, the car will fail the light inspection category.

This means the car fails the inspection and the owner must take the vehicle to be re-inspected.
