Efforts to clear land and speed up construction progress of raising the clearance of Hong Ngu bridge in Dong Thap

Hong Ngu Bridge is being constructed the fastest among the bridges that are being raised in Dong Thap . It is expected that in December, the contractor will basically complete the work on the shore.

3 continuous shifts

Mr. Vo Van Quang, Deputy Construction Manager, Bien Dong Construction and Consulting Joint Stock Company (contractor) said that the Hong Ngu bridge was started by the company at the end of May.

Contractors are busy raising the clearance of Hong Ngu bridge (Dong Thap).

Up to now, the project progress has reached more than 30%. The work on the An Loc ward side has been basically completed by the contractor and workers are being organized to work on the An Thanh ward side.

Currently, at the construction site, the company has arranged for workers to do work related to bored piles and has completed 50/56 piles according to the new bridge structure specified in the construction plan.

"To raise the clearance of Hong Ngu bridge, the contractor must construct 8 pillars and 2 abutments. Currently, the contractor has basically completed 3 pillars and 1 abutment on the An Loc ward side," Mr. Quang added.

The contractor is striving to complete the onshore work by next December.

To complete the above mentioned volume of work, the contractor has increased 30% of human resources, equipment and machinery to the construction site.

At the same time, workers were organized to work in 3 consecutive shifts, that is, working through the night to speed up construction progress.

"With the current way of organizing work, it is expected that by next December, the contractor will complete 6 piers and 2 abutments on the shore.

After that, the contractor will organize workers to do the work under the river," said Mr. Quang.

Quickly remove land obstacles

Mr. Tran Van Tuan, the consulting and supervising unit, said that after the clearance was raised, the new Hong Ngu bridge has a horizontal clearance greater than 5.5m and is 2m higher than the old bridge.

Hong Ngu Bridge is still stuck with site clearance, making it difficult for contractors to construct.

Up to this point, the contractor has basically completed the construction according to the proposed schedule.

With the current construction organization method, the workload according to each time frame will be guaranteed on schedule.

According to Mr. Vo Van Quang, the contractor is busy with construction, however, the current difficulty is that the land on both sides of Hong Ngu bridge is still stuck.

This problem needs to be resolved soon to make the contractor's construction more convenient.

Accordingly, the total land area to be recovered for Hong Ngu bridge is 1,665 hectares.

The project has a total of 95 affected households and relevant units need to provide support and compensation in accordance with regulations.

Difficulties need to be resolved soon so that the Hong Ngu bridge clearance raising project can be completed on schedule.

Dong Thap Province Land Fund Development Center said that in December, relevant units will complete the approval of compensation plans for households affected by the construction of the Hong Ngu Bridge clearance elevation.

"After the compensation plan is approved, relevant units will urgently carry out the next documents and procedures to soon hand over the clean site to the construction unit to raise the clearance of Hong Ngu bridge," added a representative of the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Thap province.

Hong Ngu Bridge has a total land area to be recovered of 1,665 hectares, with a total number of households to be compensated of 95 households.
