Nam Phu Commune: Hundreds of officials and people overcome the consequences of storm No. 10

On the morning of October 1, in Dai Lan village, the Red River flooded into the residential area. Commune leaders were present at the scene to inspect and join the people in responding and overcoming the incident.

Hundreds of cadres, union members, youth and people, regardless of difficulties and hardships, packed more than 300 sandbags to build a dam to block the flow, limiting water from flooding into residential areas.

Nam Phu Commune has deployed a response plan according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto, arranging forces to control areas at risk of landslides and flooding, diverting and directing traffic; preparing forces, materials and means to overcome incidents and ensure smooth traffic.

The commune also increased propaganda on the radio, electronic information portal, social networks, and instructed people to reinforce houses, barns, harvest agricultural products, and strengthen the banks of aquaculture ponds. At the same time, it coordinated with Hong Van and Thanh Tri Drainage Enterprises to increase pumping, open discharge gates, and limit flooding; directed the collection and pruning of dry and weak trees, and ensured traffic and environmental sanitation.

Up to now, the commune has promptly resolved a number of incidents, handled 1 fallen tree, and overcome localized flooding from 30 to 50cm in the villages of Dong My, Tan Ha, Tuong Chuc, and Van Phuc. Forces are deployed 24/7 at the headquarters and dike watch points, fully equipped with means to protect the dike, and ready to evacuate people when necessary.
