With a core force of nearly 39,000 students and over 5,000 university students, schools in the province are fertile ground for nurturing "red seeds". Therefore, in recent times, many units and localities have done a good job in creating sources and developing the Party among students, contributing to building an elite human resource.

For Binh Thuan province, there is currently 1 university, 1 college, 1 secondary school, 28 high schools. In the 2023-2024 school year, the total number of students in the province is 44,232; of which, there are 38,993 students and 5,239 university students. In recent years, the work of developing the Party among students in the province has received attention from Party committees, units, and schools, with many solutions proposed to create sources and develop Party members. Youth union and association organizations are cared for, creating favorable conditions for more active and effective activities to attract, gather, educate, and mobilize union members, association members, students, and pupils to learn about the Party, thereby discovering and selecting positive factors among cadres, union members, association members, the masses, and prestigious people to introduce to the Party for consideration and admission. With efforts and determination, from the 2020-2021 school year to the 2022-2023 school year, the whole province has 1,724 students sent by Party branches and Party Committees to attend Party awareness training classes and has admitted 259 student party members (including 213 students and 46 university students).

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep - Party Secretary - Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School (Phan Thiet City) said that Phan Boi Chau High School has more than 70 years of establishment and development, with many important milestones, one of which is the birth of the first Party Cell with 3 party members who are all students in 1972. Promoting that proud tradition of "patriotism and revolution", over the years, the Party Committee of Phan Boi Chau High School has always attached importance to the work of developing the Party among students, considering it an important political task and has achieved proud results. In the past 3 years, the Party Committee of Phan Boi Chau High School has admitted 33 party members, of which 18 are students. Every year, the School Youth Union selects from 15 to 25 outstanding members for the Party Committee to send to attend classes to foster awareness of the Party. To achieve that result, the school has strengthened education on revolutionary ideals, raised awareness, identified pure motivations to strive to join the Party for students; organized a variety of programs, movements, and activities to create a lively and attractive practical environment for students to participate, thereby discovering and selecting positive factors to nurture. At the same time, focused on discovering, nurturing, setting examples, and spreading typical examples of good people and good deeds among students. “We are proactive in discovering and nurturing outstanding factors. The school's Youth Union seeks resources to train, nurture and "incubate" potential students from grade 10 and grade 11, and at the same time expands to many subjects such as students who are outstanding in studying, outstanding in volunteer activities, outstanding in the fields of culture, arts, physical education, sports... from there, introducing them to the Party Committee, assigning Party members who are homeroom teachers, subject teachers to monitor, help and encourage exemplary students, strive to excel in studying, mature in character, and determine the right motives and aspirations to stand in the Party's ranks,” Mr. Hiep shared.

Also in the period from 2021 to present, the Party Committee of Binh Thuan College has admitted 73 new party members, of which 45 are students. The above results are thanks to the fact that every year, on the basis of the Party admission target assigned by the superiors, the Party Committee of the school has concretized in documents assigning tasks to the Party cells, in which Party Cell 6 is the Party cell in charge of areas of work related to students, is primarily responsible for coordinating with the Youth Union of the school to gather forces, create conditions, opportunities to challenge, train youth union members and select and introduce to the Party the most outstanding student union members. The assignment of a specialized Party Cell together with the Youth Union of the school to be in charge of the task of developing new party members among students also has certain advantages in gathering forces, fostering awareness and creating training conditions for them; helping the process of monitoring and helping Party sympathy to be regular, continuous and comprehensive.

Focus on building and creating successor resources

Despite achieving outstanding results, the work of creating sources for Party development among students still faces difficulties and inadequacies. That is when some Party committees, Party organizations, and leaders have not paid due attention to leadership and direction; have not focused on assigning targets to organizations and unions to carry out the task of developing Party members among students, so the number is not commensurate with the existing potential. In particular, there are schools that have not been able to admit Party members among students for 3 years (2021 - 2023); some schools have admitted students into the Party, but the rate is still low, not meeting the targets assigned by the superior Party committees. Many places are still confused in assigning and monitoring probationary Party members; discovering and helping outstanding people to join the Party and carrying out procedures to admit Party members...

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, said that identifying the development of the Party among students is the right direction, both urgent in the short term and strategic in the long term, in line with the current practical situation. Therefore, he requested the district, town, city Party Committees, Party Committees directly under the province and Party committees and organizations at all levels to uphold their responsibilities, focus on consolidating and improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations, especially Party organizations in schools; regularly pay attention to the work of educating , discovering, and creating sources of Party member development for excellent students who aspire to join the Party, considering this a key task, supplementing young human resources for the Party and the political system at all levels in the short term and in the long term. “Party committees at all levels, especially grassroots party committees, need to focus on leading and directing the survey, assessment, and analysis of the quality of outstanding students to develop plans to recruit Party members for the entire term and each year. Create a favorable environment for students to awaken to ideals, have pure motivation, practice, and strive to join the Party,” the Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized.

According to the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, it is necessary to further strengthen education on ethics, lifestyle, revolutionary traditions, patriotism, national pride, and revolutionary spirit; promote "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle", thereby enlightening students and raising awareness to strive to join the Party's ranks.

It can be said that recruiting party members among students aims to arouse the desire to contribute from young people, spreading love for the homeland and country. To do this, the entire political system of the province must join in. Accordingly, the work of developing party members among students must be considered a continuous process, must fill the "gap" or it will be broken; must find a way to make the recruitment process suitable to the characteristics and nature of students.
