The place where world golf legends are nurtured

Jordan Spieth concluded his impressive AJGA career with a win at the 2011 HP Boys Championship.

The AJGA tournament system is considered a “nursery” for legends, from Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth to golf queen Rose Zhang. Each year, AJGA organizes more than 130 youth tournaments across the United States, bringing together the best golfers aged 12-18.

AJGA tournaments not only have high professional value but are also where coaches from NCAA universities directly observe and select athletes to receive sports scholarships.

According to statistics, 100% of the world’s top 50 amateur golfers have participated in at least one AJGA tournament before entering the NCAA. For international talents, the AJGA used to be a luxury dream, because the cost of competing and traveling to the US was very high.

Therefore, the AJGA's expansion of the International Pathway Series (IPS) in 2018 was a global step forward. This system allows young golfers outside the United States to compete in AJGA-sanctioned tournaments and accumulate Rolex AJGA Ranking points like local athletes.

In particular, Vietnam officially becomes the new destination of IPS in Southeast Asia, with the opening tournament Trang An - AJGA International Pathway 2026. The tournament will take place at Trang An Golf Resort ( Ninh Binh ) from January 22 - 25, 2026, bringing together young Vietnamese and international golfers to compete.

The event not only creates opportunities for high-level competition but also serves as a stepping stone for Vietnamese talents to get closer to the NCAA scholarship system. In the Asian region, young faces such as Ratchanon Chantananuwat (Thailand) or Alice Lee (Korea) have made a splash when they moved from AJGA to the professional arena.

For Vietnam, the first IPS event promises to inspire the belief that, from domestic golf courses, it is entirely possible to reach the world dream.
