On the evening of October 16, Tran Quyet Chien took the field in the round of 32 of the 3-cushion carom billiards world championship (World Championship 2025), rematching with Korean player Lee Beom-yeol. In the previous match in the group stage, Vietnam's number 1 player defeated Lee with a score of 40-36. However, when they met again, Quyet Chien played much harder and lost to the Korean player.
Tran Quyet Chien is in a deadlock
While Tran Quyet Chien was stuck in the early stages of the match, the Korean player took advantage of the opportunity to break away. In the 5th turn, Lee Beom-yeol had a series of 8 points to take the lead 15-5. In the 9th turn, Lee continued to have a series of 5 points to increase the gap to 13 points, leading 20-7.
The score in the first half was 25-8, with the advantage of the Korean player leading. It can be said that Tran Quyet Chien played with a bad feeling, when his scoring efficiency was only 0.666 (points/shot) before the break.

Tran Quyet Chien still could not regain his best feeling in the second round. The task of chasing was too difficult, as series became a luxury for Vietnam's number 1 player. After 20 rounds, Lee Beom-yeol had Quyet Chien up by nearly 20 points, 32-13.
After hitting 40 points, Lee Beom-yeol suddenly lost his rhythm, stagnating for several consecutive turns. On the 36th turn, Tran Quyet Chien had his first big series with 8 points, but that effort came too late, as Lee Beom-yeol had already hit 49 points.
Lee Beom-yeol defeated Tran Quyet Chien 50-42 after 37 rounds. The Vietnamese player stopped at the round of 32 of the 2025 World Championship.
In the same round, Chiem Hong Thai played well but unfortunately lost 48-50 to Arnim Kahofer (Austria) after 26 rounds. The 1999-born Vietnamese player also stopped in the round of 32 of the world championship.
Another surprise was the reigning world number 1 Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) surprisingly lost 33-50 to compatriot De Bruijn.
