Singer Mai Hoa has just released her 9th album in her career, titled Hanoi Flag Flowers (arranged by musician Hong Kien). The artist confided that in her 30-year artistic journey, Hanoi is not only the place where her singing dream took flight, but also the place where she spent her youth and the strongest emotions of her life.
With this album, Mai Hoa would like to sing about a Hanoi full of flags and flowers, according to her own feelings.
Mai Hoa: At this age, why look for new things?
At the press conference to announce the album on the afternoon of September 23 in Hanoi, Mai Hoa told artists who already have an audience that unless the artist takes steps that are no longer suitable, the audience will abandon the artist. Otherwise, the audience will follow the artist they love forever.
That's why at this age, she doesn't challenge herself, nor does she take risks to try new things to "attract customers" anymore.
Even though they are looking for a little more breakthrough than themselves, artists still prioritize safety, which means they have to ensure that the products they make are of good quality and that they are the best for themselves and their audience.
The album Hanoi Flag Flowers includes nine songs about Hanoi: Hanoi Pink Heart (Nguyen Duc Toan), Remembering Hanoi Autumn (Trinh Cong Son), Hanoi Blue Sky (Van Ky), Hanoi and I (Le Vinh), Hanoi Autumn (Vu Thanh), Remembering Hanoi (Hoang Hiep), Hanoi in the Season of Flying Leaves (Huu Xuan), Hanoi Afternoon (Vu Quang Trung) and My Sister (Trong Dai).
In which My Sister does not have any words directly mentioning Hanoi but the soundtrack of the movie Hanoi People has long been considered a song about Hanoi.
Of the nine songs, three were "hit-it-once" songs: Remembering Hanoi, Blue Sky of Hanoi , and My Sister. There were also songs that were sung for the first time, such as Afternoon of Hanoi, Hanoi in the season of flying leaves ...

Singer Mai Hoa talks about being "lazy to sing"
Mai Hoa has a "natural" voice. That's what many people say when thinking about her precious deep voice.
However, after the late 1990s to early 2000s, Mai Hoa's appearances were "a bit rare", only occasionally did she sing or release a product. In 30 years of working, the artist has not had a live show/personal concert to "treat" the audience.
Is Mai Hoa too "lazy"? Not too determined?
She said that when carrying the title "singer", everyone loves the profession, but the level of determination and public acceptance are two different issues.

"Some people wonder why Mai Hoa has so many advantages, both talented and beautiful. I'm so lazy. It's hard to answer. I can't both grind rice and carry a baby," Mai Hoa admits that she "takes on too many things, is too busy, doesn't produce too many products, but is always busy. When I open my eyes and close them, I still feel like I don't have enough time."
However, receiving the title of People's Artist last year gave the artist great motivation and responsibility, pushing her to want to release products more regularly to "return to humanity" the gift that God has given her.
Musician Hong Kien commented that in the album Hanoi Flag Flowers , Mai Hoa sings as if she is telling stories about Hanoi in each period, taking the audience along with her voice "strolling" on the streets of Hanoi.
Enjoy the autumn flavor of Hanoi, watch the civilization of Hanoi blend with the sediment of the ancient capital as well as want to create a Hanoi scene that when listening, the audience will feel like they are in the works.
