Female police officer proudly participates in Vietnam peacekeeping in UN mission

VOV.VN - Vietnam loves peace and young officers volunteering to join the United Nations peacekeeping force have demonstrated the desire of young people of the People's Public Security to contribute to world peace, contributing to spreading the image of the country and people of Vietnam as friendly and responsible to the international community.

Working at the United Nations headquarters or at the Peacekeeping Police Mission are mainly young officers, selected from the local police units. Having passed strict tests and examinations, meeting the high requirements of the United Nations, having the qualities and capacity to work in an international environment.

In particular, the image of a female peacekeeping police officer brings a message of healing and love of peace, including the sympathy of the blue beret soldiers with their professionalism and bravery.

Captain Tran Thi Thu Trang of Task Force No. 4 has departed for a United Nations peacekeeping mission at the Bor Police Office, Jonglei State, South Sudan since June 23, 2024. She is currently an operations officer at the Bor Police Office, Jonglei State - a hot spot of armed conflict due to the cycle of violence between different ethnic groups. Captain Tran Thi Thu Trang affirmed that the seriousness and responsibility in work, overcoming difficulties and challenges in harsh living and working conditions, with many potential risks to security and safety...

“I always try to excellently complete the UN peacekeeping mission, demonstrating Vietnam's strong efforts and commitment to actively contributing to the mission of maintaining peace and security in the world , promoting the Agenda for Women, Peace and Security and especially the role of women in UN peacekeeping operations. This is an important achievement in implementing gender equality and empowering women as well as spreading the profound human values ​​of a Vietnamese people who love peace and always want to contribute to world peace,” Captain Tran Thi Thu Trang proudly said.

Sharing her pride in joining the Peacekeeping Police unit with the task of the Special Task Force (SWAT), Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thi Bich Phuong affirmed that youth are always the vanguard force, ready to face challenges and devote themselves to the police work in general and the Special Task Force field in particular. In the peacekeeping mission, youth strength is not only demonstrated through physical strength and fighting spirit, but also through bravery and creativity when performing tasks.

“Joining the Peacekeeping Police Unit No. 1, Ministry of Public Security , I am being trained in the SWAT team with especially dangerous missions such as rescuing hostages, capturing terrorists, and dangerous criminals. The soldiers not only bring combat skills but also a humanitarian spirit and responsibility to the community. We not only protect people and suppress threats, but also build trust and support local people to recover after conflicts. I think that my strength is youth, so I want to contribute with the People's Public Security Youth Force in public security work as well as in the peacekeeping mission, so that international friends can better understand the Vietnamese people, and Vietnamese youth who love peace and are willing to contribute for the peace of people around the world,” said Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thi Bich Phuong.

Identifying that when participating in the United Nations peacekeeping force, one will have to face dangers in conflict areas... But those difficulties and challenges cannot stop the determination of young officers with the aspiration to contribute and serve the Fatherland, contributing to protecting the peace and independence of the country as well as maintaining peace, stability and security for people around the world.

Regardless of the circumstances or field of work, Vietnam People's Public Security officers always affirm their mettle, capacity, intelligence and responsibility, which are recognized and highly appreciated by international colleagues.

Currently, Working Groups No. 1 and No. 2 of the Peacekeeping Police Unit of the Ministry of Public Security have completed their missions and returned to Vietnam. Working Groups No. 3 and No. 4 of the Ministry of Public Security are performing UN peacekeeping missions at the UNMISS Mission in South Sudan and the UNISFA Mission (Abyei region) and 1 officer is working at the UN headquarters in New York.
