Water poured in, people of a commune in Quang Binh went to Nhat Le river to cast nets to catch delicious specialty fish.

According to Dan Viet newspaper reporters, after heavy rains and floods, people in Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) invited each other to go to Nhat Le river to pull nets to catch fish and shrimp.

Every time they pull up the net with all kinds of fish, people sell them as soon as they get to shore. Some people have to use carts to transport the fish and shrimp.

Mr. Dao Xuan Quy (in Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) said: "The heavy rains in Quang Binh these past few days have caused floodwaters to flow in. Due to the sea ban, my family members and I went to Nhat Le river to pull nets and catch fish at the bottom. From yesterday until now, every net is full of fish and shrimp."

"After pulling the net and bringing the fish to shore, my sisters and I sit and pick up trash, sort fish and shrimp to sell to people right on the shore. Sometimes there are so many that we have to use a cart to carry them to sell," said Ms. Dao Thi Mien (in Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province).

According to observations by Dan Viet newspaper reporters, people here mainly pull up nets for: Catfish, Día fish, Ngát fish, Mói fish, Ve fish... and small sized shrimp and crabs. Depending on the type of fish, the selling price is different. For Día fish, the price ranges from 350,000 VND - 500,000 VND/kg, other fish have lower prices.

Talking to Dan Viet newspaper reporter, Mr. Dao Xuan Vinh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province), said: "In recent days, local people have invited each other to go to Nhat Le river to drop nets to the bottom and then pull up a lot of fish. Along the Bao Ninh embankment, people gathered to sort the fish and buy and sell directly. After buying these fish and shrimp, they are braised in salt or cooked with sour soup to become local specialties."
