Speaking at the program, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that storms No. 10 and No. 11 had caused a lot of damage to people in localities in the North and Central regions. Hanoi was also seriously affected, with many inner-city areas flooded; communes along the Cau and Ca Lo rivers were flooded for many days.

According to comrade Nguyen Van Phong, in the face of the above situation, the city has done a good job of proactively preventing, ensuring safety of life and minimizing damage to the people. In particular, supporting the policy of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, very early, Hanoi supported 14 provinces in the Central region and the Northern provinces with a total amount of 115 billion VND in 2 phases.

Emphasizing that the Hanoi Party Committee's organization of donations to support the people of the capital affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11 is very meaningful, comrade Nguyen Van Phong hopes that, promoting the spirit of "mutual love and support", the Hanoi Party Committee's agencies will enthusiastically and practically respond to this program.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong also requested that, in addition to wholehearted support, the city Party agencies need to assign cadres to regularly monitor and grasp the locality and situation in flooded areas and areas affected by natural disasters to advise the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee in leadership and direction.

At the same time, the city's Party agencies continue to do a good job of information and propaganda so that cadres, party members, and people of the capital as well as people across the country can share the difficulties and losses and see the initiative of local Party committees and authorities in supporting and helping people, especially the coordination and assistance of the armed forces in areas affected by natural disasters.

Comrade Nguyen Van Phong suggested that all levels, sectors and localities need to continue to closely monitor the situation, arrange forces when necessary to promptly support and share with many practical activities to soon stabilize the lives of people in disaster areas.

At the program, the units initially donated to support the people of the capital to overcome natural disasters with a total amount of more than 281 million VND.

According to the report at the fundraising program, the recent storms No. 10 and 11 caused heavy rain and flooding in some areas in Hanoi. In the two communes of Da Phuc and Trung Gia alone, over 8,000 households (more than 32,000 people) were affected by flooding, of which about 10,000 people had to be evacuated...

Faced with this situation, thanks to the direction of the Central Government, the timely leadership and direction of the city's leaders and the drastic participation of the entire political system, especially the proactive spirit of "four on-the-spot", Hanoi has minimized damage, protected the safety of key projects and stabilized people's lives.
