
On September 29, at the preparatory session of the 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, the Party was divided into 5 groups to discuss socio-economic issues; national defense-security and Party building. In particular, discussion group No. 2 discussed economic, infrastructure, logistics and green economy issues.
Discussion group No. 2 was chaired and directed by Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Long Thanh commune Duong Minh Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Tran Bien ward Ho Van Nam and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province Nguyen Thi Hoang.

One of the issues that delegates were interested in contributing their opinions to at the discussion session was promoting the special advantages of Long Thanh International Airport.

Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Long Thanh Commune Duong Minh Dung said that in the new term, Dong Nai needs to focus on developing transport infrastructure; in which it is necessary to urgently invest in railway lines connecting Ho Chi Minh City to the airport and from the airport to Cai Mep Port... Along with that, expressways and beltways should be put into operation soon to promote advantages.
“The Long Thanh international airport project is a golden opportunity for Dong Nai to create a new growth pole, helping the province take off and reach out to the world,” emphasized Long Thanh Commune Party Secretary Duong Minh Dung.

The Secretary of the Long Thanh Commune Party Committee proposed that the Central Government apply a special mechanism on tax incentives for the Free Trade Zone Project and green credit for the high-tech zone. At the same time, he suggested that the province review the planning, focus on investing in traffic infrastructure, and connect with the airport smoothly. Because when the airport infrastructure is smooth, other infrastructure will develop accordingly.
During the discussion, delegates exchanged many opinions on planning work. According to delegates, planning work must always be one step ahead, playing an orientation role, being the basis for effectively managing development space and attracting investment.
Regional transport infrastructure is the key and decisive factor in opening up new development space, creating momentum for regional spread and connectivity. Planning will reposition development space, organize management, and effectively exploit resources to meet the requirements of socio-economic development.

According to the Director of the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province, Nguyen Anh Tuan, in the coming time, Dong Nai needs to build a smart logistics network, connecting modes of transport by road - rail - waterway - air, developing high-quality logistics services associated with seaports, airports, and border gates. The Director of the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province proposed a number of solutions related to infrastructure breakthroughs, including proposing that the Central Government allow the province to flexibly use capital between capital sources to ensure that projects have volume but do not have capital to organize payment.
Speaking at the discussion group, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Nai province, Vu Ngoc Long, said that Dong Nai needs to invest in smart logistics centers, connecting ports and airports; and developing digital human resources and high-quality human resources.
Along with that, the province should propose the Government to consider preferential financial mechanisms for projects associated with Long Thanh airport. Departments, sectors and localities should strengthen coordination in planning, investment promotion and implementation of inter-sectoral projects...
