Speaking at the conference summarizing 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City's literature and arts after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, shared his respect and deep gratitude to generations of artists and writers in the city, who have tirelessly contributed and created continuously, contributing to creating a unique identity and making the city's literature and arts famous over the past 50 years.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee said that the greatest significance of the conference lies not only in looking back on the past 50 years, but also in meeting, sharing and honoring the values that have created the appearance of Ho Chi Minh City's literature and arts. This is also an opportunity to inspire the young generation of artists who will continue the creative flame, contributing to bringing the city's culture and arts further in the future.
Comrade Tran Luu Quang also shared a lot of information about the policy of expanding and developing the City's cultural space, including the formation of creative spaces, performances and art exchanges to serve the community. The City is studying the planning of a number of central areas, including the cultural space along the Saigon River, to become a destination for art activities, performances and international exchanges.
Along with that, the City also aims to call for strategic investors, in combination with domestic and foreign architects, to build modern, multi-functional cultural works, both serving the spiritual life of the people and creating a unique cultural highlight for the creative urban area named after Uncle Ho.
Half a century of creativity and aspiration for the development of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City – the major center of economy , culture, education and science and technology of the whole country. The city has always been considered a land rich in revolutionary tradition, creativity and humanity, a gathering place for many generations of talented artists.

The conference has a special significance in affirming the role and contribution of the City's artists to the cause of building, protecting and developing the country, especially in the period of innovation and international integration. Comprehensively summarizing the 50-year development of the City's literature and arts, pointing out achievements, limitations and lessons learned, and at the same time determining directions and tasks for the new period, in line with the orientation of developing Vietnamese culture and people in the new situation. At the conference, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal awarded by the President for its outstanding achievements in building and developing the city's culture and arts.

On this occasion, 51 collectives were commended and rewarded by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for their important contributions to the development of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City over the past 50 years since the country's reunification.


On the same day, at the Youth Cultural House (No. 4 Pham Ngoc Thach, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and coordinating locations in Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Con Dao, a series of activities "Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Days" took place.
“Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Days” is the first event to be held on a large scale, synthesizing all fields of art from traditional to modern - from literature, music, fine arts, theater, cinema, dance, photography, architecture, design to new art forms.
The event marks 50 years of formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City's literature and arts after the country's reunification (1975 - 2025), and is oriented to be held regularly in the following years, becoming an annual activity to honor, promote and develop the artistic creative value of the City named after Uncle Ho.
This is a comprehensive, large-scale event, which for the first time brings together all the art fields of Ho Chi Minh City in a common space, demonstrating the depth of tradition and the contemporary breath of creative urban culture; Affirming the role, position and enduring vitality of Ho Chi Minh City's literature and art as a source of creative, humane and affectionate energy, accompanying the cause of socio-economic development and international integration; Contributing to building the image of Ho Chi Minh City - "City of creativity, affection and aspiration to rise", where culture and art are the bridge connecting the past, present and future.
