Women of Nui Thanh commune help each other develop the economy

DNO - In recent times, the Women's Union of Nui Thanh commune has effectively maintained models of women helping each other in economic activities, promoting the spirit of overcoming difficulties, rising up to start a business, establishing a career and escaping poverty sustainably among its members.

In Xuan Trung village (Nui Thanh commune), Ms. Tran Thi Kim Liem is in charge of a women's group that helps each other develop the economy with 17 members. In addition to supporting working days, seeds, and agricultural materials, the group also guides women in accessing policy loans to develop the economy. By accompanying and helping each other to rise up, all 17 members have escaped poverty.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Liem, Head of the women's group helping each other develop the economy of Xuan Trung village, shared: "After a period of successful business, I realized that modern women, in addition to taking care of their families, also need to know how to develop the economy, start a business, and establish a career.

I am in charge of the women's group to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the women, at the same time share experiences, support jobs, mobilize members to help build economic models or propose ideas to the Women's Union of Nui Thanh commune. This helps to arouse the spirit of striving, promoting entrepreneurship and career establishment among women members."

Ms. Le Thi Phung, Head of the Women's Union of Xuan Trung village, said that in addition to effectively expanding women's groups and clubs to help each other develop the economy, the union also maintains a savings and loan group with a total outstanding policy debt of more than 1.9 billion VND. Thanks to that, many members have the motivation to develop models of livestock breeding, cultivation, business, etc.

“The association is encouraging the establishment of models of 'women starting a business' and 'women doing well in business' in residential areas. At the same time, it organizes vocational training classes associated with on-site jobs such as: sewing, food processing, family services... to help each other improve their lives,” said Ms. Phung.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Nui Thanh Commune, Le Thi Chung, said that recently, the union has reviewed and grasped the number and causes of poverty among poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households headed by women to develop plans and take appropriate support measures. The union has received help from 55 households, including 10 poor households, 20 near-poor households, and 25 extremely disadvantaged households. To date, 10 households have escaped poverty and near-poverty sustainably.

In addition, the association mobilized resources to support the livelihoods of nearly 300 million VND for 30 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households at risk of falling back into poverty; coordinated with organizations to provide capital, support livestock, and create conditions for loans. Through this, 29 female-headed households have escaped poverty.

“Promoting the effectiveness of the Job Consulting and Introduction Team, we connected and introduced 680 women to jobs in companies and production and business establishments in the area.

In particular, maintaining the activities of 2 startup clubs with nearly 50 members. In the past 5 years, 25 ideas have participated in the startup idea competition, creating motivation for female members to build development models for high income,” said Ms. Chung.

According to Ms. Le Thi Anh Nguyet, Vice President of the Women's Union of Da Nang City, the Women's Union of Nui Thanh Commune is a typical example of the movement of women helping each other develop the economy and escape poverty. Most notably, members boldly apply science and technology, borrow capital to develop the economy, and create many effective models.

“To promote the movement, the Women's Union of Nui Thanh commune needs to connect resources, sectors and organizations to continue accompanying members. In particular, encourage members to actively participate in the digital economy, establish "Women's Digital Business Groups", promote the application of technology in production, business... to adapt to the digital age", Ms. Nguyet proposed solutions.
