The nearly 30-second clip shows the Australian coach standing and clapping his hands to thank the fans who came to watch Nottingham Forest play in the 7th round of the Premier League. Notably, no Forest player approached to shake hands or talk to coach Postecoglou, creating a tense atmosphere after the loss.
After watching the clip, many fans expressed concern for Postecoglou's future. One account commented: "He looks isolated at Forest." Another fan wrote: "The team plays badly, the players turn their backs on the coach, the worst are the Forest fans."
However, some people believe that a short clip cannot reflect the whole situation. One fan commented: "Maybe Postecoglou shook the player's hand beforehand?"
After nearly a month of taking over the club, Postecoglou has yet to help Forest win any of his first seven matches in all competitions.
Before the defeat to Newcastle, Sky Sports reported that Forest President Evangelos Marinakis would not hesitate to sack Postecoglou if his form and results did not improve quickly. Forest are currently 17th in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone.
