The 2025 SEA Games will be hosted by Thailand from December 9-20, 2025. The three main cities hosting the competitions are Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla.
Recently, Kongsak Yodmanee, head of the Thai sports industry, along with Mr. Chaiyaphak Siriwat, CEO of the SEA Games Federation, and Mr. Chucheep Thammapetch, Deputy Governor of Songkhla province, co-chaired a meeting to monitor the progress of the 33rd SEA Games in Songkhla province.
Mr. Kongsak Yodmanee said Songkhla will co-host the SEA Games with 10 sports: chess, kabaddi, football, judo, karate, wrestling, pencak silat, wushu, boxing and petanque.

With only 50 days left, everything is progressing according to plan. Both the Thai team's preparations and the competition venues in all 3 provinces are almost 100% ready, ensuring a grand event.
Mr. Kongsak Yodmanee called on Thai people nationwide to support Thai athletes, follow the news of the competitions so that they can attend in person or watch live TV from home. He also emphasized being a good host and welcoming 10 Southeast Asian countries to Thailand to compete, ensuring that the 33rd SEA Games will be the biggest and most impressive sports event.
Mr. Kongsak Yodmanee also said that the 33rd SEA Games will have 50 sports, all of which are international. Of these, 27 are included in the Olympics and 9 are in the Asian Games. Other sports have also been competed in the international arena. Therefore, this SEA Games will elevate sports to a truly international sporting event.
SEA Games 2025 has 50 sports
SEA Games 33 will feature 50 sports: swimming, athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, rowing and sailing, cycling, horse riding, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, rugby, sailing, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, wrestling, skating, ice hockey, modern pentathlon, weightlifting, baseball – softball, billiards – snooker, boxing, floorball, e-sports, boxing, netball, pencak silat, petanque (petanque), sepak takraw (sepak rattan), squash, bowling, extreme sports, karate, jujitsu, cricket, wushu, kabaddi, teqball, kickboxing, woodball and chess.
There will also be three demonstration sports: aerial sports, tug of war and discus throw, and a promotional sport, MMA (mixed martial arts), with a total of 574 gold medals up for grabs.
