Vietnamese and five other countries' armies perform concert at Thang Long Imperial Citadel

The 2024 military music exchange is one of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; contributing to promoting the country, people and the Vietnam People's Army to the army and international friends, especially countries in the ASEAN bloc.

Thereby, enhancing understanding, trust, consolidating solidarity and friendship between the armies of the countries; conveying to the people and international friends the message "The armies of the countries cooperate in friendship, towards the goal of ensuring peace , security and prosperity for the nations".

At the opening ceremony, domestic and international audiences watched performances by the Army Ceremonial Band; Navy Band; Air Defense - Air Force Band; military bands of military regions and corps; People's Public Security Ceremonial Band (Vietnam) and military bands of five countries: Royal Cambodian Army, Chinese People's Liberation Army, Lao People's Army, Malaysian Army, and Myanmar Army.

In addition, 180 musicians from different countries performed four works together : Dien Bien Phu Victory, March to Saigon, Victory March, As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory.

Speaking at the opening of the exchange, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, emphasized that the military music exchange is not only an artistic playground but also an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and friendship between armed forces, between countries in the region and around the world .

The music and performances of military bands from various countries are messages of love for peace, cooperation and sustainable development; they are the thread connecting the hearts of soldiers, who always aspire to build a peaceful and prosperous world; they contribute to further strengthening solidarity, friendship and cooperation in the cultural field between the Vietnam People's Army and the armies of other countries in the region and the world.

"This is also an opportunity for delegates to visit and learn more about the country, people and traditions of the heroic Vietnam People's Army," said Mr. Nghia.
