At 7:30 a.m. on December 4, about 150 officers and soldiers and 120 military dogs of Border Guard Intermediate School 24 (Ba Vi, Hanoi ) actively practiced to prepare for the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. This is the first time the military dog force participated in a performance, in addition to the task of protecting security for the event. Major Luu Quang Lieu - Head of the Department of Basic Physical Discipline, Department of Combat Dog Training, Border Guard Intermediate School 24 - said that immediately after being assigned the task by the Ministry of National Defense and the Border Guard Command, the unit selected officers, trainers and service dogs to participate in the opening ceremony. The service dogs were maintained on a 75,000 VND/day diet, including ham (breakfast), josi bran imported from Germany and chicken breast (lunch), josi bran and fertilized eggs (dinner). In addition, each type of training dog will be supplemented with different nutrients.
