Quang Ninh confirms tourism revenue of 6,000 billion is real

On March 14, the Propaganda Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ninh and the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh held a press conference on the Quang Ninh Tourism Development Conference in 2023.

At the press conference, Mr. Trinh Dang Thanh, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, affirmed that in the past 2 months, the locality welcomed more than 3.5 million visitors, twice as many as the same period in 2022; of which international visitors reached 157,000; total tourism revenue reached more than 6,500 billion VND.

Previously, when the above figure was given by the Quang Ninh tourism industry, many businesses in the area said it was not convincing and not close to reality. Because the restaurant and hotel system closed down in series due to sluggish business, but the authorities gave a good figure.

Responding to this issue, Mr. Trinh Dang Thanh affirmed that this is the real number. The leader of Quang Ninh Department of Tourism also said that Quang Ninh's tourism space has expanded to many localities.

"Recently, Bai Chay tourist area has been deserted, with many accommodation establishments and restaurants closed. However, some localities such as Binh Lieu or spiritual relic sites have recently welcomed a lot of domestic tourists. Each place contributes a little to that number," Mr. Thanh explained.

Also according to the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, in March, this locality will organize the Quang Ninh Tourism Development Conference, with the participation of 350 delegates. The focus of the conference is to discuss solutions to attract domestic and international tourists to Quang Ninh; discuss promotion and promotion work associated with digital transformation in tourism activities; discuss solutions to expand and develop tourist attractions and tourism products in Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay...

Also at the press conference, information from the People's Committee of Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) said that this locality plans to organize the Ha Long Carnival 2023 from April 28 to 30. The main stage will still be located in the coastal area, opposite Sun Carnaval Square (Bai Chay Tourist Area, Ha Long City).
