Honda has officially launched the long-awaited new CB1000F naked bike, based on the CB1000 Hornet platform. The new 2026 Honda CB1000F shares most of the core components with the aforementioned super naked model, but has been refined for more comfortable use.

Honda first teased the bike five years ago at the 2020 Osaka Motorcycle Show as the CB-F concept based on the CB1000R Neo Sports Cafe, before revealing the production-ready design at the 2025 Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race earlier this year alongside a front-mounted airfoil SE version.

Styled after the original CB750F and CB900F that dominated the 1980s and served as the basis for Freddie Spencer's AMA race bikes, the CB1000F wraps modern engineering in a pure retro design.

The 2026 Honda CB1000F comes in three color options – Wolf Silver Metallic with Blue Stripe, Wolf Silver Metallic with Gray Stripe, and Graphite Black. The price of the bike in Japan is 1,397,000 Yen (equivalent to 241.8 million VND). The total weight of the bike is 214kg when full of fuel, the seat height is 795mm, and the ground clearance is 135mm. The CB1000F is equipped with a keyless smartkey.

At the heart of the CB1000F is Honda's familiar 998cc inline-four – originally taken from the 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade – but heavily tweaked to make it more user-friendly.

Peak power now stands at 122bhp at 9,000rpm, with 103Nm of torque available at 8,000rpm. At first glance, this might seem like a drop in the bucket compared to the Hornet SP’s 155bhp, but Honda says the focus here is on real-world usability, with improved low- to mid-range power.

This performance level is also higher, but quite close to other nostalgic naked bikes from Japan such as Kawasaki Z900RS (111 hp/98.5 Nm) or Yamaha XSR900 (119 hp/93 Nm). Compared to the CB1000 Hornet engine, the cam timing has been adjusted, and the vehicle is equipped with a new 4-2-1 "loudspeaker" exhaust and uses an air intake funnel that is about 3 times longer.

The intakes are also of unequal length, which Honda says creates a “vibrating” sound when the throttle is opened. The transmission has also been tweaked, with a wider gear ratio range, including lower first and second gears, along with a longer third gear for more relaxed highway cruising – 4000 rpm at 100 km/h compared to the Hornet’s 4300 rpm.
12-4934.jpg
It gets a new assist/slipper clutch, and thanks to a claimed fuel consumption of around 50mpg, the CB1000F’s 16-litre tank should give it a range of over 170 miles between fill-ups. Beneath the classic silhouette is the Hornet’s steel diamond-shaped frame, which is mated to a new, wider subframe for passenger comfort.

Suspension consists of fully adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP forks and a similarly adjustable Showa rear shock, working through an improved Pro-Link multi-link setup. Nissin four-piston calipers clamp down on a 310mm front disc, while a single-piston caliper handles the rear duties, stopping a 240mm disc.
10-9504.jpg
The lightweight five-spoke aluminum wheels are said to be inspired by the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and come with 120/70×17 and 180/55×17 front and rear tires. On the electronics front, the new bike gets cornering ABS and wheelie control thanks to a 6-axis IMU motion sensor.
9-5646.jpg
There's also adjustable engine braking, and riders can choose from three default riding modes, along with two customizable "User" modes that allow fine-tuning of power delivery, engine braking, and traction control. Honda says "Standard" mode delivers maximum power with carbureted smoothness, while "Sport" mode increases throttle response and reduces engine braking.

“Rain” mode controls power and throttle response, maintaining maximum traction control sensitivity. All settings are displayed on the 5-inch TFT instrument panel, which features smartphone connectivity, allowing turn-by-turn navigation, music and phone calls via Bluetooth headsets, controlled by a backlit switchgear on the left handlebar.
