Lamborghini is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its in-house design center, the Centro Stile, which has been responsible for later versions of the Gallardo and Murciélago, as well as special models like the Reventón. To mark two decades of existence, Lamborghini design director Mitja Borkert has decided to create a special concept called the "Lamborghini Manifesto". If this concept is the future Lamborghini supercar, it will make customers excited. The all-new Lamborghini Manifesto concept is developed with a bold style, more similar to Hot Wheels toy cars than actual supercars that can roll on the road.
The front of the car has a large opening, which is speculated to suck air to cool the mid-mounted engine. Although it is not clear what engine Lamborghini will use because this is a concept, it is certainly not just for decoration. Before Lamborghini had its own design center, the Italian supercar manufacturer collaborated with many outside design studios to create its products. The most famous of which is the Countach, designed by Marcello Gandini when he worked at the Bertone design house.
Mitja Borkert comments, “Two decades have passed since the pivotal moment when the Lamborghini Centro Stile was founded. Lamborghini is built on two parallel pillars: performance engineering and design. Design requires in-house research and development. Over the past 20 years, the Centro Stile has written the rulebook for Lamborghini’s design DNA, defining structure and function. This is the genetic blueprint for the brand.” “Concepts and limited production cars are an opportunity for the Centro Stile design team to question the imagination of what is possible,” adds Borkert. “The spirit of the Centro Stile is to be inspired by exciting and stimulating things like the roof of the Aventador, inspired by the wings of a beetle that splits along the mid-axis and wraps around the body.” “The hexagonal shape and the honeycomb finish in carbon are recurring themes in Lamborghini models. Along with the extreme, powerful racing car minimalism and the fighter jet cabin feel… are all special sources of inspiration for me,” Borkert added.
”In 2017, Lamborghini surprised car enthusiasts with the bold Terzo Millennio concept, which was the precursor to the Revuelto and Temerario. Now the Manifesto concept will shape the style of future Lamborghini models. Video : Introducing the Lamborghini Manifesto Concept supercar.
