On the afternoon of September 9, Quang Ngai Newspaper coordinated with a group of Quang Ngai friends in Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union and the family of the late writer and journalist Nguyen The Ky to organize the 9th Lighting up Dreams for Quang Ngai Youth Scholarship Award Ceremony in 2023 and launch the Nguyen The Ky Writer and Journalist Scholarship Fund.

Here, a group of Quang Ngai friends in Ho Chi Minh City and the family of the late writer and journalist Nguyen The Ky awarded 175 scholarships and 175 gifts to children.

On September 8, Quang Ngai Newspaper, along with a group of Quang Ngai friends in Ho Chi Minh City and the family of writer and journalist Nguyen The Ky, awarded 50 scholarships and 50 gifts to students who have overcome difficulties in studying and training at schools in Tu Nghia District (Quang Ngai).

The total amount of scholarships and gifts for the above two periods is 680 million VND.

Awarding scholarships to light up dreams for poor students who overcome difficulties and study well in Quang Ngai province

According to the organizers, the Lighting up Dreams scholarship was founded by a group of Quang Ngai friends in Ho Chi Minh City. This group brings together a number of people from Quang Ngai who are doing business and living in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces, along with people from other provinces and cities who love the people and homeland of Quang Ngai. The group has coordinated with the Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union 8 times to organize scholarships for poor students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies in Quang Ngai province.

Different from previous awards, in this 9th award, the Light Up Dreams scholarship is accompanied by the Writer and Journalist Nguyen The Ky Scholarship Fund, Quang Ngai Newspaper, and Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union.

According to the temporary operating regulations of the Light Up Dreams Scholarship - Scholarship Fund for writer and journalist Nguyen The Ky, the selected recipients of this scholarship are students of Quang Ngai province, 12th grade students who are ethnic minorities studying at high schools in mountainous districts in the province and Quang Ngai province's Ethnic Boarding High School...

The criteria for awarding scholarships are students with truly outstanding academic performance, winning prizes in school, provincial, regional and national competitions; students with especially difficult circumstances but overcoming difficulties to study well, or students with sudden difficulties at risk of dropping out of school...

After more than 2 months of campaigning, a group of Quang Ngai friends in Ho Chi Minh City, the family of the late writer and journalist Nguyen The Ky and other donors have supported the Lighting Up Dreams Scholarship - Writer and Journalist Nguyen The Ky Scholarship Fund with more than 1 billion VND.

Poet, writer, journalist, playwright Nguyen The Ky (1931-2021), from Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai.

He joined the revolution at the age of 14 and composed literature and art with more than 10 stage plays and movies, especially two famous stage plays: Red Mountain Fire and That Year's Forest . In addition, he also composed prose and poetry...
