After bringing in a series of quality new recruits this summer to increase the depth of the squad, the Gunners' leadership began planning to retain key players with long-term contracts.
Most recently, William Saliba dispelled rumors of a move to Real Madrid, signing a new 5-year contract with the Emirates Stadium team.

BBC sources added that after Saliba, it will be David Raya's turn to receive a salary increase for his practical contributions to Arsenal.
The Spanish goalkeeper currently earns £100,000 a week. David Raya's salary could rise to £150,000 a week in the coming announcement.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper moved from Brentford in 2023 and quickly established himself as the Gunners' number 1 goalkeeper.
David Raya has kept 45 clean sheets in 105 appearances for Arsenal so far. He has been hailed by Arteta as "the best attacking goalkeeper in the Premier League".
In addition to his good reflexes, David Raya also possesses impressive footwork skills. For two consecutive years, he received the Premier League Golden Glove award.
Although Raya gets a significant pay rise, the length of his contract will remain unchanged (until 2028), due to the improved deal.
