Support the construction of public internet access points to serve Khmer people in O Lam commune

On October 8, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of An Giang province, Danh Tha, and leaders of the People's Committee of O Lam commune conducted a survey of two locations to build public internet access points to serve the Khmer people of O Lam commune.

Two internet access points were installed at the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan Hamlet and the People's Committee of Phuoc Loi Hamlet. These points are equipped with high-speed internet system, free use for 1 year; 65-inch TV screen with keyboard, sound system... for online conferences. The total cost of equipping each point is about 45 million VND.

In addition, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of An Giang province will provide training to improve the capacity of staff directly managing and exploiting the equipment.

Local authorities informed the delegation about directions to help Khmer people use online public services.

Supporting the construction of internet access points is one of the contents of the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, contributing to promoting digital transformation at the grassroots level, bringing technology closer to the Khmer people.
